Please share some of your Bible translations and why you like them.
I like to use the NKJV and NASB for Bible studies. The NLT and CSB for devotions and reading plans.

Col 1:21-22
God did it for us all, it is done by God through Son as risen where new life is given from Father to do as led, not as want or think need to do anymore. Flesh nature first birth reckoned now dead daily Romans 6:12, yet, read the whole chapter please same with Colossians as well
God sincerely, truly loves us all, blows my mind and am thankful, not to use it for any self gain at all, ever again, now willingly trusting /Father to lead not me or anyone else anymore

I'd love to see a thread where people say things about translations that they like, rather than throwing shade at translations they don't like. I won't hold my breath though; the collective character of a certain group of persons is far too familiar to me.

I like the NIV and ESV for clarity of language, the NASB and Mounce for the precision of translation, and NET for the abundance of notes.

I like the ebonics translation for it is cool.

But I am kidding.

And this has nothing to do with cutting down anyone.

But there is no need for it for people in America grow up learning English in the school system.

And people speaking English around them.

So it is not like they cannot understand the English speaking Bible.

But a person might say but we do not understand that as much like people will say about the KJV.

But they have the newer translations and they know English.

And the words they change does not really mean anything as relating to anything.

Yo listen, dis, crib , etc but I think we get the meaning from the original.

And the fact they wrote the ebonics version testifies they know what those words mean to use a substitute.

So what is the purpose of it other than wanting to separate yourselves and think you are cool.

It does not seem right but if they are using God's word I will not say anything against it.

What is next the 1960's version with groovy, far out, funky, etc.

Or the mafia version, bada boom bada bing, fuhgeddaboudit, thou shalt not whack, etc.

I like the KJV.

You know the Bible they used when they were more strict in morals.

But it is the Bible I started out with so I stayed with it.

I think in KJV, if I am looking for a verse I search with a KJV concordance. Upon location of the verse I can use any translation, NASB for grandchildren, NKJV for my children, I have a journaling ESV that I am also quite fond of. I have found that many of my brethren tend towards ESV during Bible discussions. My first Bible as an 8 year old Southern Baptist was a Revised Standard version. I did have a problem with the use of JEHOVAH almost exclusively but this was quickly resolved when I obtained a KJV. I haven’t seen that Bible in years but I think I still have it 62 years later.

As I sit here sipping tea from my made in the USA Ronald Regan quote mug, I'm thinking

This is video recording is THE best quotable treasure President Regan left for us, an honorable Legacy.

I use ESV mostly but also NKJV(which I grew up with), NIV, and JPS Tanakh. I also use others like TS2009 just because I’m not big on transliterating names. I kinda believe your name should be your name no matter the location or culture.

This pastor recommends: CSB, NKJV, ESV and NLT

I prefer 1 translation from God personally. Who interprets it all in his kids hearts the new ones given them to know truth do love and mercy to all for all, thanks Father and Son for this love that no first birth flesh can fathom

The Geneva bible is quite interesting. It is considered the first English language study bible as it includes ref. notation. It was pre KJV and in fact, King James had the bible retranslated because he didn't care for some of the notations in the Geneva bible. He saw them as limiting his power. It was also the bible brought to America by the puritans. Like the KJV it is a difficult read as it is written in old English which we don't speak anymore. Some wordage has definitions we are unaware of. I prefer the NASB for easier reading and understanding.
I had a staunch KJV only person tell me they don't like reading anything else and complained that one version other than the KJV did not refer to Mary as a virgin but instead, as a maiden. If that person had taken the time to look up the definition of maiden which is an unmarried virgin, then it may have eased their mind a bit. Lesson learned from that is no matter what version you are reading, keep a dictionary handy so you don't misunderstand what you are reading.
The most important thing is this....Read God's word in whatever version you can best understand.

trusting God to reveal truth to you in you., for you and all others as well. Being ready in season and out of season. to give an account to others, why you remain joyful in adversities as well. Paul did that in Jail, praised God, no matter what
Philippians, 4 chapters a good read from Chapter one
Contented in all whether sincere or not, Why? God Father preached through risen Son, did not matter he was in jail. With that now as been done, we got the letters he wrote from Jail, imagine that?
God id good all the time as good is god all the time, not always seen as true, yet it is thank you

Learning to understand 2 Cor 10:5 and seeing verse 6 to keep me humble and not accuse, abuse or excuse, especially myself, thank you
