What would be a reasonable time frame for a courtship process? Related ?: are people entering into relationships entirely too fast these days? Btw: i been in the live chat quite a bit for the last week or so. Today was particularly good, as more people were showing up and hanging out. The rooms dont cost anything yet....

I'm glad the live chat is working out well. I haven't tried it yet. It seems to take some time to get to know if people have weird tendencies, so a longer courtship might be a good idea. Back in the day in smaller town people knew your people, and they knew your own history, but not so much nowadays.

I feel like I’m 30-40, but that evil mirror says otherwise lol.
May that continue, Texasgal! I'm into my 7th decade but I still feel at least 30-40 years younger...that is, if I can remember what that was like, lol! (That's a forgetfulness joke, by the way.)

Why am I suddenly thinking of trying to arrange some kind of Singles Scavenger Hunt in which we all go over and try to sneak off with Cinder's tea...:geek::cool:
I'll take mine with a little honey and a lemon twist. The thing is I haven't had tea in years. Used to drink Red Rose tea but not sure if such a product even exists anymore.

You reach a point in your life where you either know what you want or you don't.

For me, in the courting or dating process, I would know, after 3 or 4 dates whether or not this person was worth pursuing in a relationship that may lead to marriage.

I don't believe in long engagements either. A prolong engagement is a waste of precious time. After a few months it's time to get married. Or break it off altogether.

Cats don't give their affection to just anybody, and likewise this is the sort of woman that would interest you, I'm assuming. However, you can't just hold out a dish of tuna and expect them to eat right out of your hand, like you might a dog. I think the story of Ruth and Boaz reflects this analogy. He made sure that her concerns were 'left' for her, and she didn't fail to notice the care. Another aspect also reflective of the cat family, a kitten will be more apt to trust you if its mother trusts you. And Ruth was encouraged to lie herself at Boaz feet by Naomi.
You provided valuable insights.

The Red Rose brand is still out there, Tourist Jerry. I think it was on the shelf my last grocery run, but I opted to not get it because I was mildly inclined to buy loose tea instead of bags and the only loose tea was Lipton. So I put off the whole decision. In the 1980s or so, I remember finding a weird little ceramic figurine in the box, but I didn't think anything of it, nor was I attracted to it. (I collect my share of stuff, but a canning jar will win out over a ceramic figurine any day of the week.) I did a quick internet search and discovering they are owned by Lipton for the most part and that they promoted tea-leave reading, I think I'll search for a different brand. I, too, haven't had a proper cup of black tea in a long time.

Funny thing is, that goes directly against common advice. On the other hand, you got married.

There are many theories about the discrepancy, but I'm going to go with different things work for different people.

A good rule of thumb is, before the relationship progresses to the bedroom. The more you know your spouse before marriage, the less surprises there are to hinder the relationship.

Well if it's THAT simple...

christianchat.com/app is up and running, and you can start your own room. (I don't know if starting your own room is free or costs, because I have never messed with it myself. But I do know it is possible and permitted to start your own chatroom there.)

Go for it dude!

i can't download this on my phone. I feel left out😭

I haven't been able to login in my laptop -- that would be my preference, and I'll be limited if I can only get in on my phone (I wouldn't be able to keep up as well.)

Hopefully they'll get it up and running in a format that suits everyone! :)

Don't worry Edith -- we're not even close to trying to set something up yet, so you're not missing out on the singles front. 💖

30-40 is just a general age near my own and not exclusive. If you’re asking about the singles chat, it will be for all ages. I trust you can behave yourself for 30-45 min and not be a hag.;)

Lol!!!

This made me laugh out out loud!

Susanna is definitely one of the most interesting and very UN-hag-like people I've ever met on this forum!! I most certainly hope that she could join in, as it wouldn't be a genuine wing-ding without her.

As for behaving, well...

I can pretty much guarantee she's interesting and not-hag-gish -- so let's just say two out of three ain't bad!:geek::cool:

(And I only say that because I only hope to aspire to reach her levels of trouble-making someday.)
