what are you talking about ???

John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

how many Holy Spirits are there in your world ???

Ephesians 4:4-6 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

and again, please provide your definition of "FWer" or "freewiller" ... third time asking:

btw ... you never provided your definition of "FWer" or "freewiller":
You FWers are very quick and very consistent in giving the Spirit of Truth and Life very short shrift.
Please define "FWer" or "freewiller". All of the definitions of "FWer" or "freewiller" provided thus far do not apply to me.
so please define "FWer" / "freewiller" so when you use the term, whoever you are referring to knows what you mean. Otherwise, it's just a meaningless term with no significance to anyone except you.

.

Right. Glad you figured out who the Comforter is -- and also the Helper. It's the THIRD PERSON of the Godhead. Congratulations.

And I have stated NUMEROUS times what YOU FWers mean when you use the term "freewill". You believe that fallen mankind has some intrinsic power to make moral/spiritual choices that are contrary to its immutable evil nature to which man's mind, soul and heart are in bondage/imprisoned, thereby ascribing to sinners a power that even God himself doesn't have. Got it now? Why don't copy and paste this paragraph into file somewhere for future reference? Maybe we'll all get blessed and you won't have to ask a fourth time.

Rufus can continue to call whoever he wants a "FWer" or "freewiller" ... however, he may or may not be correct in his use of the term. for all I know, when the term is bandied about, it could refer to you ... just sayin'

.
The thing is Rufus has shunned me many times for for no good reason, and now he just has me on ignore,

After trying to speak with several times, he hasn't answered, so when I way the whole thing up, and look back at how he shunned me, and the action he has took now, I think he's mean, and I don't think he has his will under control, so there you have my reason, I've made my mind up now about him now ,

Where as with you I've made my mind up, your a nice person

If I was you I would ignore him he will only continue to hurt you

From where I stand your not very good at taking correction either,

You do not correct. You re-direct. Into your dogma.

No substance.
Like a kid shouting back at his parents who tell him what he needs to do, and he stiffens his neck.

Try making sense.
I have I've shown you several times how the true Calvie affiliates speak how abd shown you many sermons about how they pray for all to be saved and they teach his word can save anyone

And I have been very patient with you, and I've told you exactly why your hurting me, instead of hating you.

I dont mind about that.

Try something new

and he needs correcting, your not a good teacher if you can't see that he does, and all your demonstrating is hate, because you can't take correction either

Sorry, I didn’t reply sooner, Rufus, but I have been taking care of end-of-year stuff, doctors, etc.

In rereading Luke 1:76 and 1:77, another possible interpretation slightly different than the above jumped out at me, but not sure which is correct, so I thought I'd ask for your opinion, and the opinions of any other non-FWers, who would care to join in. I know this may initially not seem correct nor easy to see (unless you’re looking for it), but basically, it is that instead of John being the one who would "give knowledge of salvation, " that possibly it might be Jesus who would actually do so, with John just preparing His ways, by heralding Him (through John’s introduction of Jesus, water baptisms, and preaching), although, I can see either being possible, and go back and forth between them. It seems to me, though, that ultimately it is Jesus, at least in a spiritual sense, who truly gives that knowledge to everyone who becomes saved, not John, but again, not sure which one was intended.

IOW, it might be read as: " go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways to give the knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sin". I don't think a semi-colon or a comma was in the original text.

[Luk 1:76-77 KJV]
76 And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways;
77 To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,

The way the passage naturally reads to me is that vv.68-75 speak of the coming Messiah. And verse 76ff. speaks of John the Baptist. See also Jn 1:6-9.

What is the TULIP?

Calvinists do not believe it anymore?
Then they are not Calvinists.
They just have not found a new name for themselves.

thanks for replying, Jordon.

My understanding is that all who have posted in this thread agree that God reaches out to mankind first ... that God always makes the first move.

I'm still waiting to hear from Rufus ...

.

Yeah...but in your world, God ineffectually "reaches out to mankind first" to become their potential Savior. After someone believes, His grace/power then suddenly becomes efficacious to many FWers during the sanctification and glorification aspects of God's salvation. After all, God would never initially impose his will upon grown up, mature, self-reliant, self-sufficient, self-sustaining adults, would he?

Thanks. A refreshing departure from the appalling one verse flashcard non-scholarship that is the operating principle of the Biblically illiterate super-determinists lingering around here.

Context kills Calvinism per @HeIsHere is a fact.

Dr. Walter Martin identified, "the subtle art of redefinition," common in cults.

They have revealed a lot of "redefinition" on this thread, regeneration not being salvation is one.

Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.

Biblically, the washing of our sins does not precede faith; so nor does regeneration.

It’s a Reformed Doctrine invention.

I never made any claim to be a teacher.
Yet I offered you an excellent one, and you refused.

The Holy Spirit is the one who teaches you ultimately.
He will teach you who to be taught by.

The Holy Spirit will not have you to be taught false doctrines, but only to teach you of your own weaknesses to be addressed and dealt with in the power of his grace and truth.

The Spirit exposes our errors to ourselves in order for us to take up our cross and hand it over to death.
We then receive resurrection through correction.

Sound doctrine. Knowing the Word correctly. Knowing Christ.
