What do you think of the verses I shared and what happened with them when they received the Holy Ghost?

As you already know, we who interpret Acts in light of Paul's epistles view tongues as the miracle of being able to speak and understand unlearned earthly languages that occurred at Pentecost and shortly thereafter in order to found the church, after which Christians came to understand faith & love to be the normative sign of SB and filling with the HS per verses including those I shared.

ESV Proverbs 1:23 If you turn at my reproof, behold, I will pour out my spirit to you; I will make my words known to you.

Parallelism.

Yes, many passages indicate the essential unity of the HS & GW, with the key word being "love".
Psalm 119 is the longest OT passage. (I will add the verse you cited to the UNO what & Key OT Scriptures :^)

I'm sorry I don't follow you at all.

You would have better understanding if you would open your heart and not have a fixed idea what it says!

Do you trust HIS word to be true and HE is the same yesterday, today and forever?

I'm not interpreting the book of Acts at all, but just sharing HIS WORD.

So how about we look at it,

Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

As WE can see it's GOD'S spirit talking nothing about any earthly language.

We also know that the ones who witnessed this did if fact hear in their language, SO someone must have been interpreting what the they were saying.

Now to back up why I say what is true.

1 Corinthians 14:2 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

So we see IF HIS word AND IF HIS word is TRUE and HE is same yesterday, today and forever then WE see that those who heard them someone had to interpreted it.

1 Corinthians 12:10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

Now WE see that one of the gifts that comes with the Holy Ghost is the gift of interpretation!!!

Since those in Acts 2:4 was the first time for it to happen no one had any idea how to interpret then so "I THINK" it was GOD HIMSELF who had them hear in their own language

Of course YOU NEVER SHOWED ME ANY VERSE BACKING UP WHEN WE GET FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT YOU GET FILLED WITH LOVE ONLY.

WHY DO YOU STILL SAY IT KNOWING FOR A FACT IT'S NOT TRUE????

Done:

PR 1:22-31 begins by asking how long fools will hate knowledge of God's Word and continues by saying that if they had repented when rebuked they would have received God's heart/thoughts, which in NT terms refers to the HS/GW (1John 4:2-8 & 5:6). However, because they ignored God, and chose to spurn His will, they will reap the fruit of their wicked ways and moral complacency.

This passage presages the NT preaching of repentance (Matt. 4:17, Acts 2:38 & 17:30), the teaching of GW by the HS (John 14:26 & 16:13), and the consignment of the complacent to condemnation (Matt. 7:21-23, 13:14-15, Rom. 2:5-11, Heb. 3:7-19).

And so you revert to bickering, which I don't do (per 2Tim. 2:23-24 & Tit. 3:9), so I reiterate my bet and say "adios" again.

It's actually saying His words are His Spirit - as words are expressed in breath - how can they be separated?

Look for the parallels between heart and spirit. Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks - the mouth speaks the heart /and the spirit. God knows when the mouth speaks but the heart & spirit are far from Him. But God has no such division - His words are His Spirit being poured out.

Bickering?

One thing was accomplished, since your not debating scripture at least you are thinking about it.

Or don't you care?

Yes, God's heart, thoughts, HS and GW are all synonymous, so they should never be divorced.

I care about agreement/unity very much. which is why I say:

The Gospel (kerygma/GRFS) should be every Christian’s creed, and only belief in this crucial truth should be viewed as a test for orthodoxy or heresy. As Paul wrote in Romans 10:9, “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Conversely, judgments concerning a person’s spiritual orientation or ultimate destiny should not be made on the basis of didachaic or secondary doctrines. (If any judgment is made, it should begin with a self-examination per Matt. 7:1&5, 2Cor. 13:5-8).

A major reason many Christians throughout history have not manifested the love and unity of God’s Spirit (Eph. 4:3) as well as they should is because of failure to realize this truth. If they did, it would free them to speak honestly and fellowship without becoming unduly upset about relatively minor issues. They would receive God’s blessing as peacemakers, who draw inclusive circles around people based on the kerygma rather than denominational lines between them due to didachaic differences. Jesus prayed for spiritual unity (cf. John 17:20-23, “May they be one…”). Thus, unity regarding the Gospel is more important than accuracy regarding doctrinal details.

Every person who hears the NT Gospel needs to repent and accept God’s grace or justification in Jesus as Christ/Messiah the Lord or Supreme Commander (Luke 2:11, John 14:6, Acts 16:31), at which moment God’s loving Holy Spirit of Christ indwells/baptizes the believer into the church (Rev. 3:20, Rom. 5:5, 1Cor. 12:13).

Loving Christ Jesus as Lord (Luke 2:11), God the Son (Matt. 16:16) or God in the human dimension (Col. 2:9) means reflecting divine love as empowered by the Holy Spirit, thereby obeying His command to be one/love one another (Matt. 7:21, 22:37-40, John 13:35, Rom. 13:9)—forever (Matt. 10:22, Psa. 113:2), which will eventually achieve spiritual maturity and unity on earth and heaven after Christ returns at God’s resurrection (John 14:6, 17&26, Rom. 8:6-17, Gal. 6:7-9, Eph. 1:13-14, Phil. 3:12-16, Heb. 10:36, 12:1, Jam. 1:2-4).

Although perfection is not achieved in this life, the necessity of learning the didache in order to strive for moral perfection indicates the need for perseverance or to keep on learning and growing spiritually until we die physically (Phil. 3:12-14). Thus, although learning any specific part of the didache is not GRFS, a person who does not “hunger and thirst for righteousness” (Matt. 5:6) or want to learn “every word that comes from the mouth of God” (Matt. 4:4) fails the self-examination Paul commanded and Jesus implied.

If you REALLY cared about agreement you would start with agreeing with HIS WORD.

I do see the problem when you are proven wrong you head down a different path do to PRIDE because YOU CAN'T BE.

If you notice the only negative thing I said about you is why do you keep saying something that is not true.

If you ever want to get back to the Holy Ghost, again which is a part of being reborn, let me know, we can debate HIS word all day long that way we are all on the same page.

Yea, I know what it means.

It means when you are wrong your done.

FYI, we all make mistakes the problem is you don't have the ability to see how bad your's are.

Same reason Satan was kicked out of Heaven, that's a clue.

Believer before that day.... do you want the Holy Spirit? I was 15 went to this bible study with my mom. I said yes but.. you or I heard things about the Holy Spirit but not like GOD or Christ Jesus. So sat in this chair he read only scriptures that talked about the holy Spirit. He ever added anything as in "what that means.. what Christ was saying" no just scriptures then asked again "do you want the holy Spirit" I said yes and he prayed one of the shortest prayers then just stopped and said "that's it you got it"

Oh that always gets me amazes me. Well do we believe when we read GOD saying something .. He did it? He said if you ask the Father for the Holy Spirit He will give it to those that ask. It was GOD said it.. you asked HE did it what you asked. HE said If you ask Him HE will give the Holy Spirit to them that ask. So nothing happened.. no one said a word .. I got up.. I want to sit down and bam.. tongues just came out. No one was speaking in tongues.. no one. You didn't ask but.. the day before and then that moment was there a difference? YES yes yes praise GOD GLORY GLORY GLORY TO JESUS. That river .. that joy never ends.. just shocked the other day and this is 50+ years later haha telling my wife after 41 years of marriage.. how this (with the holy Spirit).. how it never gets old. How can this keep growing.. and growing.. it never ever gets old. I so want to keep going.

Pffft its not about tongues personally I do believe that comes to all.. like Paul .. I pray you all speak with tongues "but I would rather have you prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be edified. " He did speak in tongues more then all of them. That alone should would think tells us something about what some of us are missing.

See I didn't care didn't know any over view about this. Well there was no view. Yeah they just read the verses.. no you decide. Have you received the holy Spirit since you believed? What do I care if someone does not believe that? I read it.. seemed to really as Christ you shall receive power after? That was for the 12/120+ only? Praise GOD. Seems I asked the Father...and He gave. I don't believe ..what always stops Him. Don't believe a word I say.. you pray you seek you find this truth for your self. Ask Him

Not sure if I followed you, but I hope you agree GW says we receive the HS when we accept JC as Lord (Rom. 8:9-16, 5:8).

When did the 120 receive the Holy Ghost?

They were told to wait, after they waited, how long did they wait?

How about in Acts 8?

Why did Phillip have to send for Peter and John?
Because they didn't receive it, how did they know they didn't?

Acts 10, when did they received the Holy Ghost?
During the conversation Peter was having with them, no one expected it to happen at all.

Acts 19, when did they receive the Holy Ghost?
When they came out of the water Paul laid hands on them.

If you want people to agree with you about GOD'S word follow it.

You illustrate the need for harmonizing GW.
I do; you don't.
You argue; I bet.

So it appears many believe God is the author of confusion and not Satan.

In Acts it says, they all heard in their own language.

What is it they all heard ----- the Good News of the coming Kingdom of God --not unintelligible gibberish .

What benefit is there in listening to unintelligible gibberish? will it help you to grow in understanding, knowledge and wisdom?

Everything Jesus Christ spoke during His 33 1/2 years on earth was to edify, to instruct.

Likewise His 13 Apostles.

Speaking in unintelligible gibberish IS NOT OF GOD!

If this is impressive to you just wait --- there are two coming that will really impress.

You illustrate the need for harmonizing GW.
I do; you don't.
You argue; I bet.

No need to harminiz anything just trust and OBEY.

Every need just to OBEY and follow what it says.

I don't have to say what you are, you know, it's been proven and you don't change. Why?

I share HIS word in love and call out those who don't, thus my name "OUCH".

I don't argue, I challenge to make people look in HIS word, since you don't you call it arguing because think the debate is between us and it's nothing to do with us it's all about JESUS and HIS word.

I can't just sit back and watch someone say HIS word says something that it doesn't!!

Will you ever understand we will be held accountable for every word out of our mouth?
