Not quite ready to get into debate just yet but this is an interesting thought will have to did a little deeper into this son.
Unfortunately, some are not open to learning something that contradicts their bias,
so you will find they engage in verbal ping-pong rather than do dialectical and systematic discussions.
When ALL pertinent scripture on the subject is considered, and not cherry picked which causes scripture to conflict with scripture, you end up with the following requirements

Water baptism and repentance were requirements for salvation for Israel with their kingdom gospel. Paul speaks of a grace gospel for gentiles that has only one baptism (immersion) that of the believer into the body of Christ by the Holy Spirit.
