Part of Jeremiah 31 is re-quoted in Hebrews 8.
This teaches us that the fulfillment was entirely different from the one we are being told about by modern Israel enthusiasts.
Well Israel exists as a nation and the sun and moon still go about their business. You did not read far enough. You are right, lineage does define who is Jewish. And there are still Jews. It's fact; get over it.
"Israel" is a name. People can call their cats that if they wish.

The name 'Israel" was given to a man by God for a particular reason and has a particular meaning.
Regarding the prophesies, the modern Israel enthusiasts have done a good job of distorting them.
I have not claimed that a modern nation with that name does not exist.
I have however claimed that it is not the same entity that is called the Israel of God in Galatians 6:16.
Commenter Lamar has only been making a point about physical ancestry.
The world population is now counted in billions, and many try to categorize people into families that existed when it was counted in thousands.
The old tribes are to a large extent all related to each other now.
Physical appearance still does to some extent betray our ancestry however, and the Semitic tribes have an appearance a bit like the one we call "Arab".
In the case of modern Israelis those from Europe look as European as those from Ethiopia look Ethiopian.
It is illegal for Israelis to get a DNA test within the modern state or to talk about it if they have gotten one outside.
Could they be protecting some king of myth?
In the interest of truth we have the right to ask these questions without being accused of racism or mass murder.
Either way, 1 Thess. 4:16-17 is primarily about the future resurrection and gathering of God's elect. That's the consistent narrative.

Anyone that goes near a swab test kit(that are easily obtainable for people in 98% of cases) are targeted by Mossad sting operations, and we all know who Mossad actually are! 
how can any Israeli's be actually descendant from Jacob we know it must be a mass coverup. Reading some other links on that page. Apparently, people can mail order test kits from the US, or wherever, and that's not prevented by customs authorities.
Friend I only read the first point and seen it was incorrect, Ive read stuff similar to this elsewhere and it is plain misleading, I do not know why when it comes to facts about Israel we dont need to double check information but triple check information, when the first point said DNA testing is restricted it is misleading.
DNA testing is restricted in just about all countries with a robust democracy. For certain things, and Im not sure about America but presume even they have to have court orders for testing of paternal DNA in cases of disputed parenthood.
Yet the site you posted does not clarify the circumstances which to me is referring too. so can mislead.
I could go through it all, to fact check and explain but dont feel the need as Im sure you are interested in the subject enough to look diligently for yourself!
Fair enough, when I read a post I judge the intent of the poster more than the post, I know beekeeper appears to be on your side so you want to support him, but please read his posts carefully with a grain of salt, this argument has been around for years and there are warnings everywhere that it is antisemite propaganda trying to undermine Jewish ancestry, Beekeeper obviously knows this as he followed up with a I should be allowed to ask this question without being accused of antisemitism. To me it is deceptive behavior.
A leading politician in my country, was antisemite, and his vitriol against Israel was disgusting for a person in the publics eye, anyway a reality tv show got a group of celebrities and did DNA testing on them and talked about their revealed ancestry it was an interesting watch.
Anyway this politicians DNA test was revealed to him live on camera and the reaction was priceless, anyway his antisemitism disappeared from that moment onwards
It sounds like the powers that be are afraid uncontrolled DNA testing will undermine Jewish ancestry. That's the only explanation for such a restrictive approach. They should be welcoming it to prove their ancestry, right?
