hello Pearshaped. Welcome, good to meet you. Good morning and greetings from Scotland. ;)

Hello everyone,
Here my „name“ is pearshaped (a british term) and thats what my journey with God is atm.

I look for company bec I dont have many friends, and only two christians around me. Im Bed- and Homebound due to chronic illness since 10 years now, I joined this chat for finding friendship,
for prayer, chat and advice. Im 38 years old but still in my twenties in my head.

hello Pearshaped

interesting you say that is how my relationship with G-D is at the moment, I cannot visualize what that means?

but don't worry I am the foolish things of the world.

my wife is basically bed bound, she does get up here and there, but not long before the bed calls her back...

I have been struggling with a beat down from the enemy, looking for answers. probably the beat down has be spiralling a little, the best advice I have found so far I think is to mind my thoughts, hoping I can implement this..

I have said a prayer for you, and hope you do find your friendships you are looking for, as this walk can be lonely.

any advice for me, feel free to share, get you started...

either way, nice to meet you

Bruce

Hi Bruce,
Im so sorry to hear your wife is ill !
How long has she been ill ?

It must be very hard for you…
Oh thank you, I will just pray now for you and for your wife.
So you have similar problems with thoughts or did I misunderstood something ? I dont know if God still hears my prayers but will definetely pray for that ,too.
re: my username: Well, my journey with God is more like a rollercoaster with more downs than ups.
Or more specific, tbh, Im always wandering away from him and now is a point where I have to ask myself if he left me. bec there is no communication and the bible feels dead letters.
but I will try to not give up and hope he comes after me again.

Mark 16:17-18
New International Version

17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”

Matthew 17:20
New International Version

20 He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

and keep you;

John 15:13-15
New International Version

13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.

our wearher is not snowy here yet but it gets cold now. How is the weather then in Southern California around this time of year ?
Usually partly sunny but cool. Although we're expecting quite a storm Christmas Eve, Christmas and Friday. The chart shows 3 drops which is huge for here lol.

Matthew 7:24-27
New International Version

24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

Thank you so much for several bible verses that hit the nail on the head. Like this one.
I ve built my house on sand but want to begin it to put Gods words into practice but it seems that I cant, cant even focus on this problem bec there are other problems (unwilling heart, not seeing my sins how guilty I am anymore) bec I have such a battle in me when reading the bible.

But thanks its what I must hear.
have a good new year

Ephesians 5:8
New International Version

8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light

Matthew 13
New International Version

13 That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the lake. 2 Such large crowds gathered around him that he got into a boat and sat in it, while all the people stood on the shore. 3 Then he told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed. 4 As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5 Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 6 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. 8 Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. 9 Whoever has ears, let them hear.”
10 The disciples came to him and asked, “Why do you speak to the people in parables?”
11 He replied, “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. 12 Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. 13 This is why I speak to them in parables:
“Though seeing, they do not see;
though hearing, they do not hear or understand.
14 In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah:
“‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding;
you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.
15 For this people’s heart has become calloused;
they hardly hear with their ears,
and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts
and turn, and I would heal them.’[a]
16 But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. 17 For truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.
18 “Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: 19 When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path. 20 The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. 21 But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. 22 The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful. 23 But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”
