I never considered Canada to be 3rd world. I think Canada would benefit mutually from free trade, tax free commerce, and industry that would not be appropriate for certain other nations.
However I love Canadian humor and have been reprimanded for Red Green references and jokes from the pulpits of pastors. I guess it's because that rural stereotype reminds me of myself and WV.
That also means that I can't miss a chance to trade jokes with my Canadian sisters here.
Speaking of which...

"That was some years back but he was taken aback at the sheer ignorance of some visiting Canada with at least one person wanting to know where the Eskimos were."
😄

On that previous post, I refered to this interview with the Google insider. I made a mistake. It's on the News forum. The first 7 minutes.

Canada could use a good PM for starters. I don't know if you remember Stephen Harper? Actually pulled the country out of the red. I guess he was just too good. I respected the fact that he left politics when Trudeau was voted in over him. I mean if the country (especially silly women) were going to swoon over Trudeau in spite of the fact he actually said....really he did....he was going to run the country in the red, then leave them to it. It's real pretty out west anyway where Harper is from.

Hey I'm not kidding about the Eskimo thing. go figure

Oh im sorry. I dont sit with baited breath waiting on a comment. And I think you are correct in knowing what I said. And ive never hidden from everyone.

That's very brave coming from your keyboard. Ignorance is never as attractive as those who espouse it would like to think. I don't know why you think you have to be insulting, but that's your problem.

Yeah Poilievre. He is from out west. Did you know thay Carney got dirty and managed to get Poilievre out of his own riding? He managed to get back in, in a huge win, so he is back in the house now. Again, Carney is just beginning to reveal his nasty character and soon enough Canadians will want him gone. Gotta live with their mistake for now tho

I always tell Americans, do not get rid of the electoral college. They will rue the day they do. smh Didn't know that about Carney, but I got a bad vibe the first time I saw him. He seemed to come out of nowhere, I'd never heard of him before.

Growing up in Detroit I have been to Windsor, Ontario quite a few times. Very clean and peaceful city. Spent some time in Sarnia too which is across the Blue Water Bridge from Port Huron. Been to Sault Sainte Marie on both the Michigan and Ontario side and have been to Niagara Falls twice, both in New York and Ontario. I have had awesome experiences in Canada. Very friendly peeps too.

I'm glad you enjoyed yourself and remember the experiences fondly. (ok now I sound like hotel management) But seriously, I'm proud of Canada and Canadians. Not their voting so much  Been on both sides of Niagra myself. What happened on the US side?

I'vr been right across the country of course (this one 2). Lots of variety in geography and actually people as well

Well technically, Charlie is Canada's Head of State...not in Quebec tho LOL! That ole hatred between the French and English from centuries back is alive and well in PQ.

Come on now...you're a smart women (can tell by yr posts) you think Canada would do better under this gov? and as one gigantic state? On the flip side, in that casr Quebec might just go for that. It's always the wild card. Queen E hung on forever and it was always said that she would not give her throne to Charles. She did her best. Everyone respected her. The older son of Charles seems to have his head together...guess we'll see.

Canada should definately incorporate a better representation tho, but that British Parliament way of doing things......

I just don't see things going well with this Carney. He seems shifty, and you're saying he is. I was really hoping that the son would take over from the Queen. She was unmovable and I'm not sure anyone will ever live up to her legacy. A different time, people were made of different stuff. I guess I never forgave Charles for what he did to Diana, I was such a fan of hers as a girl.

Yeah he kinda did just 'appear'. That's when you know that something is not quite right. Wanna learn more (optional)?

Try this The Dems would love to get rid of the electoral college and pack the courts and just plain get rid of the right period.

What he did with Diana, and continuing with the ...er....less then desirable women...shows his character. It's missing.

Try the link in my post above regarding Carney if you want to know why you feel as you do.

I can't respect any man, regardless of his position, that would cheat on his wife. Deplorable.

It was deeper than that though. She was a young virgin and he married her knowing he was in love with another woman. He used her to get two heirs then tossed her aside. She was a young woman in the prime of her life. She seemed to have genuinely loved him at one time. Had he been the man he should have been, she would be alive today.

Right. It was an observation. How aliens from both borders come here then cry about how things are.

Well here's the thing, I came here legally and I have had less rights than if I just run the border. If you don't have a Greencard you can't vote. You can't depend on the gov't for help, I had to be sponsored into the country. I live and pay taxes here, I am married to a US citizen and still have less rights than illegals here. And if you don't have insurance for health you're going to pay a fortune if you get sick. None of this should be true. It should be easier for people who are coming legally and harder for the criminals running the border.

🇨🇦 Canada’s Wait-Time Crisis Compared to the World

here are the wait times:

🇨🇦 Canada
• MRI: 80–90 days average
• CT: 60–70 days
• Surgery: 30 weeks median wait
• Deaths while waiting: 23,746

🇵🇱 Poland
• MRI: 7–14 days (private pathway)
• CT: Same week with private option
• Surgeries: Weeks, not months
• Deaths while waiting: tiny fraction of Canada

🇺🇸 United States
• MRI: 24–48 hours (insured)
• CT: Same day
• Surgeries: Days or weeks
• Deaths while waiting: not tracked… because wait-lists are rare

🇬🇧 United Kingdom (NHS)
• MRI: 25–35 days
• CT: 1–3 weeks
• Surgeries: long waits, but far fewer die waiting
• Deaths while waiting: ≈310

Now the real problem…

🇨🇦 23,746 Canadians died waiting for surgery or scans last year

This is not normal.
This is not happening anywhere else in the developed world.
And it’s getting worse.

🇨🇦 Canada

23,746 deaths while on wait-lists (2024–25).
Months for MRIs. Months for CTs. Months for surgery.
The longest waits in the developed world… and the highest death toll from delays.

🇵🇱 Poland

Public system with a legal private option…
• MRI in 7–14 days
• Surgeries in weeks, not half-a-year
No national crisis of patients dying waiting for care.
Poland proves that choice shortens waits.

🇺🇸 United States

The US issues are about cost — not speed.
Urgent care is immediate. Elective surgery is fast.
They don’t track “died waiting for surgery” because wait-lists almost never exist.

🇬🇧 United Kingdom (NHS)

Even a struggling NHS reports ≈310 deaths linked to delayed major surgery.
Canada: 23,746.
The gap is staggering.

📌 The truth

Canada now has:
• the slowest system,
• the longest waits, and
• the highest number of deaths from delayed care in the developed world.

I guess Trump isnt the only one that can make libersls cry. 😭

There are no liberals in this thread. Try reading with comprehension. Actually, you know? You sound like someone I am glad is not my neighbor. Rude and condescending. Whatever at this point.

I didn't notice where this thread is about disparaging Canada. Nice work though. You do realize I can come up with even more scary stats for this country? Alot of the problems in health care are caused by illegals. Canada has let in far too many muslims and other so called refugees and if it doesn't turn around, it's not going to get better.
