To be a mediator one has to be equal to both parties to avoid impartiality.
If he were just a man? It would be impossible to be impartial towards God.
It's much like seeing God use the singular form and claiming the capital S spirit or Holy Spirit as His personal Spirit that strives in men like the Holy Spirit currently strives in you and myself.
3 And Jehovah said, My Spirit shall not strive with man for ever...
The Trinity this would represent 2 persons but in the proper Hebrew it's literally God and His personal Spirit.
As Jesus is being both man and God in union?
And, He fully represents God to man, as a man?
Before man was created?
No man existed?
Only angels existed?
The Holy Spirit was both fully angel and fully God!
The Holy Spirit fully represented God to angels, as an angel.
Man is a soul.
Jesus is both soul and Deity in union.
Angels are 'spirit.'

And, you will notice a possessive use for the My Soul in reference to the two natures of Jesus.

God is not soul. Right? (John 9:24) God is spirit!

But we know God has a Spirit because Peter said that the Holy Spirit was the Spirit of the Lord which we know is Jesus or God manifested in the flesh.

Angels are spirit, and it is not the same spirit as Deity is spirit.
The Holy Spirit is the same kind of spirit as angels are spirit, just as the soul of Jehovah is the same kind of soul as men are.
