Luke 9:60 Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.
is Jesus being rude here?
No; JESUS was never rude.
Luke 9:60 Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.
is Jesus being rude here?
Was Jesus rude ?
Yes, He is at times.
John 2:13 When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14 In the temple courts he found people selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. 15 So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. 16 To those who sold doves he said, “Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house into a market!” 17 His disciples remembered that it is written: “Zeal for your house will consume me.”
That's pretty rude, lol! Sometimes truth hurts and comes across as rude but that is just being blunt.

Wanna be born again?
Being born again is a spiritual birth.
How can someone be unborn spiritually? See #80.
Does the Spirit who once indwelt the believer leave? Yes.
How does this take place? Via reverting to unbelief in the Gospel.
And if the Spirit left, wouldn't that be God forsaking the individual? No, that would be the individual forsaking God.
Wouldn't that mean they have been separated from the love of God in Christ Jesus? Yes.
1 John 3:9 - No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. (NASB 1995)1 John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
I would have to agree, given there is no such thing. What can you expect from an unregenerated Christian? Not much
There are genuine Christians and there are "nominal" Christians. There are genuine believers and there are make believers and it's not hard to find them mixed together throughout scripture, in various churches today and on various Christian forum sites.I wonder about Christians who are always looking to condemn believers. I wonder how they stack up before God. The Pharisee boasted about his righteousness. The tax collector said, "God, be merciful to me, a sinner". God rejects the Pharisee and forgave the tax collector.
2 Corinthians 1:22 - set his seal of ownership on us and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.Does the Spirit who once indwelt the believer leave?
Grace and peaceThe passages that seem to support tulipism may be harmonized with those supporting MFW as follows:
1. John 10:27-29 – being “unsnatchable” does not disallow a person from choosing to jump out of the “Father’s hand”. Also, in JN 6:37 “never drive away” does not mean a person cannot go away, and in JN 6:39 “I shall lose none” may refer to those who persevere or do not stray, who stand firm, who endure, who hold firmly, etc.
2. Rom. 8:38-39 – “anything else” may refer to powers other than one’s own will.
3. Rom. 14:4&10, Paul says not to judge a servant of Jesus, who is able to make them stand before God’s judgment. The verb “make” may mean “provide a way”.
4. 1Cor 1:8, 10:12 & 15:58, Paul says that Jesus will keep the Corinthian believers firm to the end, warns them that if they think they are standing firm to be careful that they don’t fall and therefore, stand firm, letting nothing move them from the work of the Lord. These verses indicate that standing firm involves a believer cooperating with the way Jesus provides.
5. 2Cor 1:20-24, Paul says that God makes us stand firm in Christ and anointed our hearts with the HS as a seal and deposit; it is by faith that we stand firm. This indicates that the way God provides for standing firm is for believers to persevere in cooperating with the HS.
6. Eph. 1:11-14 – what is “predestined” is God’s plan to choose or elect anyone who desires to be “in him” or to satisfy GRFS. Thus, being “marked in him with a seal” does not abrogate moral free will (cf. 2Pet. 1:10f).
7. 1 John 2:19 – when synthesized with verse 24 must mean that those who repudiate their Faith do not eternally “belong”.
8. Psalm 135:6 – in light of “volitional verses” (such as Deut. 30:19 & Matt. 23:37) means that God “pleases” to permit limited free will.
9. Pro. 21:1 – in order not to make God responsible for the sins cited in the rest of the chapter must mean that the “king’s heart” or will is choosing to cooperate with the Lord’s “hand” or directions.
Do not kick against the goad of GW.
1 John 3:9 - No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. (NASB 1995)
1 John 3:9 - No one who is born of God [deliberately, knowingly, and habitually] practices sin, because God’s seed [His principle of life, the essence of His righteous character] remains [permanently] in him [who is born again—who is reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose]; and he [who is born again] cannot habitually [live a life characterized by] sin, because he is born of God and longs to please Him.
Doeth no sin (αμαρτιαν ου ποιε). Linear present active indicative as in verse 1 John 3:4 like αμαρτανε in verse 1 John 3:8. The child of God does not have the habit of sin.
His seed (σπερμα αυτου). God's seed, "the divine principle of life" (Vincent). Cf. 1 John 3:1.
And he cannot sin (κα ου δυνατα αμαρτανειν). This is a wrong translation, for this English naturally means "and he cannot commit sin" as if it were κα ου δυνατα αμαρτειν or αμαρτησα (second aorist or first aorist active infinitive). The present active infinitive αμαρτανειν can only mean "and he cannot go on sinning," as is true of αμαρτανε in verse 1 John 3:8 and αμαρτανων in verse 1 John 3:6. For the aorist subjunctive to commit a sin see αμαρτητε and αμαρτη in 1 John 2:1. A great deal of false theology has grown out of a misunderstanding of the tense of αμαρτανειν here. Paul has precisely John's idea in Romans 6:1 επιμενωμεν τη αμαρτια (shall we continue in sin, present active linear subjunctive) in contrast with αμαρτησωμεν in Romans 6:15 (shall we commit a sin, first aorist active subjunctive).

Your comments is not wrong and pay attention particularly to how a sinners receive Jesus. The Word given by God has to have effect on that person heart. No one and none choose God first. God love us first. This is what Jesus have to say:
John 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

If we read more of the epistle it puts it in context like this partThanks for the link!
There is some interesting scholarship with another interpretation of 1John3:9 that doesn't have to differentiate into the tense matter as Robertson and many others have.
If you have any interest here's the link. The analysis is fairly brief, a bit fun to follow, but IMO is worth considering as others have and therefore identify this resource.
If we read more of the epistle it puts it in context like this part
“My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not.
And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: and he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the whole world.”
1 John 2:1-2 KJV
What that means is we’re in a situation like David where acknowledgement ,repentance ,confession become the source of mercy . Think of our covenants roots
“Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.”
Isaiah 55:3 KJV
think of David he was called and chosen by god from early on to be king . After this being called a man after gods own heart he began to cover the married woman he bagan watching as she bathed . Married to a faithful israelite of God . He then commits a sin of death and commits adultery impregnating Uriah the Hittites wife while he’s away with the army .
then David begins to scheme and plot how he can deceive Uriah to think it’s his child in his wife but this fails . So finally David not wanting to be discovered for his sins , plots Uriahs death commanding his army to lead Uriah to the front line d then withdraw leaving him to fight and die against an army .
after this David was crushed inwardly guilt and shame covered his soul crushing his heart for the lord and so we have psalm 51 where we see the mercies of David begin to shine through in repentance and remission of sins
“Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: According unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: And my sin is ever before me. Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: And in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Hide thy face from my sins, And blot out all mine iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God; And renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; And take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; And uphold me with thy free spirit. Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; And sinners shall be converted unto thee. Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: And my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: A broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.”
Psalm 51:1-3, 6-7, 9-14, 17 KJV
we can see when David Hod his sin and when he then afterwards acknowledges it to the lord what happened
“Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no guile.
When I kept silence, my bones waxed old Through my roaring all the day long. For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: My moisture is turned into the drought of summer.
. I acknowledged my sin unto thee, And mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; And thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah. For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: Surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.”
Psalm 32:1-6 KJV
That’s how sin is dealt with in the new covenant if we pretend we haven’t sinned when we have it will condemn us but if we confess our sins and walk in the light of the gospel he will cleanse our sins and change the issues within us that’s what John is talking about here
“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”
1 John 1:8-10 KJV
when we ignore our sin , pretend we didn’t sin when we did , when we judge everyone else but ourselves without mercy , when we’re stubborn and won’t humble ourselves ect these things will kill a Christian’s progress .
The truth is everyone has sinned after belief if they e been a Christian for very long at all
The difference is some are just fine with sin they act as if it’s not happening or isn’t an issue with God so there’s no repentance no confession no acknowledgement they are pretending with God rather than getting real with him
it’s hard to keep sinning when you acknowledge it’a offensive to God who’s with you always by his spirit . It’s when we start pretending sun is irrelevant and so it’s just how we live guilt free saying “ Jesus died for my sins so I don’t need to acknowledge them as sin “
gods not okay with sin that’s why Jesus siffered so much and died on the cross , to save us from the condemnation we all have earned with our sin
