Does something like that bother you more than the premiums of health care going sky high?
Most things the government has it's hands in bothers me.
There are a lot of reasons health care premiums are so high and the eating of junk food that the snap benefits allows them to buy junk food is one of them.
Another is the fact so many people on Obama care and medicare and other ins abuse the system by running to a doctor or clinic for things we used to treat at home.
The medical profession also also abuses the system by prescribing more drugs than necessary and having patients visit as often as the Ins will pay.
The simple truth is the government has set up a system that leads to and even encourages people to abuse the system.

The ingredients in say a Snickers bar is milk chocolate ,peanuts, corn syrup, sugar, palm oil, skim milk, lactose, salt, egg whites, artificial sweetener. All these should also be banned also to keep everyone healthy.

I have no problem with helping those who are truly in need. Whether that be free medical help or SNAP.
But I do have a problem with those who abuse the benefits.
Those using SNAP in the local Walmart is the ones I see the most.
I see people buying junk food while they also buy $50 a carton cigarettes, beer, wine etc.
I understand the need for cell phones, but often these people are talking on their phone while their kids talk on theirs. In other words every member of the family has one.
I see them buying $30-$40 shirts while we shop the mark downs and thrift stores.
I see them put their free food in $25-$30,000 suvs and trucks while I put my food that I paid cash for in my 18 year old Chevy or 25 year old pickup.
I understand that all do not abuse the benefits, but many do.
And yes, that angers me, when I see people who need help cannot get it or enough of it while others abuse it.

People have tastes and wants....
Not gonna fault them for doing so.

Jesus liked early Figs and Fish

But toys?

Leggo sets are outrageous.

Lord of the Ring Leggo Set $499?

Politicians, protestors, and a pretty good mix in the intersectionality of the People. The current reigning king of man-on-the-street interview style Nick Shirley goes to DC to pick the brain of the social conscience marking the longest shutdown in US history. This is definitely one of his finest videos, he presents a great cross-section of DC and opinion, it is well worth the watch regaardless of ones political leaning.

I can see why judgement is coming.:(

Judgment is already here. Really the democrats caused it and Chuck will inevitably take the most crow to eat for it overall when its all said and done and there is literally nothing he can do to stop that, but the GOP should do what Trump already said and stop acting tough and just actually spank them and nuclear button this. The people are suffering, this neccessitates the nuclear option, all who oppose the nuclear vote of simply the clean original bill no additions of poison pills no subtractions of any leftwing social programs that has already been affirmed originally by the GOP themselves, anyone who votes Nay will be shamed and the villains regardless of party period. Hesitation is weakness at this point, if the GOP delays to do it the blame starts to slide downward to them. and the democrats shouldn't rejoice because the stench is still on them, their game is a losing game for everyone because of a defeatist mentality that is now obsolete anyways after the 2025 elections. Speed therefore is the key, just go and do it.

Okay here's the plan. DOGE has found 214 billion in waste fraud and abuse which was already approved by congress to be paid and has been diverted from these programs, departments ect. legally into some bank kitty somewhere. https://doge.gov/savings So we take all the federal employees, military ect. who's paycheck's interest, insurance, pensions, bonuses ect. total 51 billion per month and SNAP at 8. something, or just round it on up to 9 billion per month and make it an even 60 billion per month cost. So 214 billion divided by 60 will pay all the military and other Federal employees and SNAP for the next 3.566 months and its already been approved by congress and can be diverted.

I listened to this and cannot understand how anyone would put the blame for this shutdown on the republicans. It seems to me that the reason the SNAP benefits have been cut off is solely the responsibility of Democrats who refuse to pass a clean CR.

Meh they've tried to gaslight us about way more obvious stuff than this. It doesn't surprise me one bit. I'd be more inclined to blame the GOP than Trump though, Trump is right just nuclear option to help the common people, but it's the GOP that refuses to listen to Trump. It's like trying to tell a cuck to dump his girlfriend and he replies "but if I dump her she'll cheat on me" like buddy she already cheats on you, just do the nuclear option for the good of the children.

The poor are poor for good reasons.

Poor people are usually generationally poor....meaning their parents and grandparents have always been poor.

Poor people make poor decisions because they do as their parents have done.

50 year mortgages instead of 20.
Recreational drug/alcohol abuse
5 year car notes and/or car leases
Misdemeanor crime resulting in fines.
Overdraft fees from banks for lack of balancing your checkbook.
Student loans
Credit card debt for expenses.
Christmas debt
Gambling (including lottery, crypto currency/stock market single stock trading)
Job hopping for larger paychecks without checking out the company.
Large amounts of time given to doing unproductive activities (internet surfing, television viewing, gaming)

Food in the USA is usually around 20% of an average household income. Mortgage can be anywhere from 25%-50%. All depending on regional area.

People want to "solve" the problem of people being poor. It's not possible.

A learning disabled person has zero chance of becoming normal or an intellectual. However they can learn (if willing) to be able to successfully navigate the world in order to survive In some fashion without constant assistance.

SNAP benefits are for poor people. It's NEVER going to solve the hunger problems poor people face. We will ALWAYS have the poor among us. If you believe otherwise then you are saying Jesus is a liar.
