Now is this directed to those that are saved or all in general?
It’s actually touching on length of hair and the natural covering God gave women and is spoken to the church
“Every man
praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.
But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.
….Doth not even nature itself teach you, that,
if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.”
1 Corinthians 11:4-6, 14-15 KJV
all that said it’s important to read all of it because after all that he says
“But
if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.”
1 Corinthians 11:16
In other words Paul’s saying doesn’t nature itself teach you that women should have long hair as a covering given by God and men short hair so rhier head isn’t covered ? Yet the church has no hardened rules about this but rather judge ani get yourselves these trivial matters .
He goes on to adress that they come together and bicker and argue about these types of trivial matters and he’s disappointed in them which is why he’s touching on the matter of hair length and head coverings they were arguing about eveything in that church pauos trying to redirect thier attention to what matters and what can bring unity and peace
“Now in this that
I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse.( we do this here a lot also ) For first of all,
when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.”
1 Corinthians 11:17-18 KJV
they were arguing over the details and making enemies of one another he goes on to explain how they are taking communion wrong and how they aren’t “together “ in tbier faith .
