No idea what any of that has to do with the subject. No one is trying to reason with their emotions.
Words have meaning and we need to be able to define those meanings or we do end up with a word salad. The OP is trying to define the meaning.
Whether one can handle their emotions or not makes no difference as emotions are not designed for reasoning. If you are looking at the word of God and defining it's meaning by how you feel about it, you are headed down a dangerous path.
But how do you know which spirit is speaking if you don't know sound doctrine? What will you test against?
Sound doctrine = Truth.
I know quite a few people who have messed up or are wandering in circles because they thought the Spirit was leading them.
The holy spirit only witnesses with the word, but I assure you, there are not thousands of doctrines.
How do you know nobody is trying to reason with there emotions ?
How do you know sonebody has fully got to group with there emotions,
Theres not many people who can overcome addiction just like that.
So addiction and emotions they go hand in hand in that score, until a person can overcome addiction then they can start to overcome there emotions again.
For you to say that total depravity won't speak to your emotions, then I wonder do you have a conscience ?
Well of cause you do sawdust I sense you have a conscience and you have your human right to , but you know that some people may not even have a conscience anymore and they're just to far gone.

As for the thousand doctrines? Don't know, never stopped to add them up but as life is quite varied and truth needs to cover every area of our life, so I don't expect to have enough fingers to count them on.

I see ok, well it looks like your saying emotions just appear from no where and they are a part of your nature that you cant reason with,.does that mean you can't control them to, so when you cry do you cry forever
Ok so if you can't reason with your emotions then do you always stay angry, do you ever hide your emotions ( feelings)
Càn people always tell how your feeling
Are feelings and emotions different to you ?
So when your told your totally depraved how does that make you feel ?
Does it cause you any type of emotion or feeling
They were saved before they followed his teachings
They who were saved?
Were saved before they followed his teachings!

I became very saved just the same.

Instead, body parts were used to indicate emotions, as seen in the following.
My bowels, my bowels! I am pained at my very heart; my heart maketh a noise in me;

the alarm of war." Jeremiah 4:19
Paul said that the worst apostate Christians in his day were the ones who made their God their emotions.
As he expressed in Philippians 3:18-19.
(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are
the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose
glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
