Our Lord Jesus Christ gave us a great warning about False Christ & Prophets...

True prophets will be 100% correct, zero falsehoods: Deut 18:20-21, Jer 23:25-26, Jer 23:32, Jer 28:9, Eze 22:28, Eze 33:33, 1 Sam 3:19-20

True prophets will only come in the name of God [however false prophets may lie and come in God's name, as well]: Deut 18:20, Jer 23:13

True prophets will live according to God's Word: Matt 7:15-17, Jer 23:14, Jer 23:10

True prophets will bring the true Word of God: 2 Pet 2:1-3, Jer 23:21-22, Jer 23:25-26

Prophecy & Scripture: Scripture is complete and the truth has been revealed in full. Anyone claiming to bring a new revelation from God that contradicts scripture has automatically proven themselves false. Heb 1:1-4, Col 1:25-27, Rom 16:25-27, 2 Thess 2:13-15, 2 Cor 1:12-13

Prophecy & events: I don't rule out there are people who may have accurately prophesied an event through God, but I'm just not aware of any. The 'prophets' I see today give vague open-ended warnings or flattering news, and then claim success when something occurs that kind of fits the description.

Bottom line: Be a Berean and put everyone to the scriptural test.

In general, I agree with you, but I take exception to your statement, "the truth has been revealed in full". Scripture reveals what we need to know, but it does not reveal "everything", which is why we need the continued revelation from God and why we have science.

Continued revelation? No, that's exactly how false prophets and false teachers deceive. They claim a new word, a new revelation, and a new thing, which is how we got false pseudo-christian religions. Scientific knowledge is great and should be pursued. It may confirm scripture, but it isn't equal to scripture and it doesn't trump scripture.

Revelation received in full -

Col 1:25 I have become its servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness - 26 the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the saints. 27 To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Rom 1:25 Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which has been kept secret for long ages past, 26 but now has been disclosed, and through the Scriptures of the prophets, in accordance with the commandment of the eternal God, has been made known to all the nations, leading to obedience of faith; 27 to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, be the glory forever. Amen.

Do not add to God's word, and do not go beyond what has already been written -

1Cor 4:6, Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively applied to myself and Apollos for your sakes, that in us you might learn not to exceed what is written…

2Jn 1:9, Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God…

Deut 4:2, You shall not add to the word which I am commanding you, nor take away from it…

Prov 30:5-6, Every word of God is tested… Do not add to His words, Lest He reprove you, and you be proved a liar.

Rev 22:18, I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God shall add to him the plagues which are written in this book…

Either the Bible is complete, sufficient, and trustworthy, or it's not.

You completely missed the point.

His thoughts about me are what is important. He loved me enough to send His Son to die in my place. I don’t care what you think.

His thoughts about me are what is important. He loved me enough to send His Son to die in my place. I don’t care what you think
I said this before and I will say it again.

It is not what you believe and what you say matters.
What matters is the Truth!

And this is the Truth.
Scribes & Pharisees believe that their God is the Father.
So they are proud to say that to Jesus.
JOHN 8:41
41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.

But the Lord Jesus emphasize this truth to them.
MATTHEW 7:21
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Because they called God as Father (whom they never knew). Instead they enter into the kingdom of God. They will face the damnation.
MATTHEW 7:22-23
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Scribes & Pharisees believe to be in the kingdom of God. But it is not what they believe and what they say to Jesus.
The truth they will be thrown into hell.

And now you have the same belief as Scribes & Pharisees.

MATTHEW 24:23-24
23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.

24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

All sects in Christianity despite they have different recognition to Jesus and having different doctrines and way of salvation but still claiming they are the true Prophets.

Who can reveal the false Prophets?
It is only Jesus who can.

I don’t know of any Christian sect that claims they are the true prophets. If you have, please quote them.

Well now I know you adhere to a Gospel of works which is no Gospel at all.

The devil taught the OSAS people that the Lord has not called His people to obedience... the devil told them that being obedient to the Lord is trying to earn their salvation. These folks are following devils and are too slow to even know it. clueless-doh.gif

And so the OSAS folks enjoy and celebrate living in disobedience to the Lord as they instead live in obedience to the devil

Romans 6:16
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Those OSAS folks refuse to submit themselves to the Lord so by default they are submitted unto the devil

Let me know when you figure out how much obedience is required to cross the saved finish line, so far no one has been able to answer.

Believers can identify false prophets.

If ever the true believers of Christ I mean true believers (like Apostles & Disciples of Christ in the New Testament) could identify the false Prophets it is because it was revealed by Jesus Christ to them and not in their own way.

The credit is still to Jesus Christ.

Who can reveal the false Prophets?

Er, no... Jesus said we would know them by their fruits and those not teaching the Doctrine of Christ... like the OSAS false teachers.... are the false prophets, false teachers, and false brethren that Jesus said were tares.

Those that ask questions that produce strife between themselves and the Lord... won't be finding out because they refuse to accept the whole counsel of God and instead only believe a few scripture passages that fit their preconceived ideas they learned from their favorite false teachers... who teach great swelling word of baloney rolleyes3.gif

Of course the credit goes to the Lord.... He says in His Word that we can do all things thru Christ Who strengthens us -
Philippians 4:13

Ephesians 5:27
That He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

2 Peter 3:13-16
Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found by Him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

Those teaching heresy (such as OSAS) and otherwise living after the flesh following the wisdom of men as though it were the wisdom of the Lord... sadly aren't going to make the cut.

Those that ask questions that produce strife between themselves and the Lord... won't be finding out because they refuse to accept the whole counsel of God and instead only believe a few scripture passages that fit their preconceived ideas they learned from their favorite false teachers.

Produce strife, so you cannot defend your denial of saved is saved, eternally secure, if saved always saved?

And so the thread gets hijacked. Not that hijacking is bad in this particular case, but in general, it’s poor forum practice.

So, to the person who has an issue with OSAS, (@HigherGospel) start your own thread!

That is not what Scripture says.

Reading the bible needs the guidance of the Holy Ghost.
And The Holy Ghost guides only those who can identify who God the Father is.

Even you will going to memorize your bible, without the guidance of the Holy Ghost, you always say THAT IS NOT WHAT SCRIPTURE SAYS.
Because you will not understand what truth is (Proverbs 2:6)
2 TIMOTHY 3:7
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Jesus need to remind his Apostles regarding the doctrines of Scribes & Pharisees.
It proves and it shows only Jesus who knows the false Prophets. Even his own Apostles doesn't know them.
MATTHEW 16:6 & 12
6 Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
12 Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
