Doing so was an act of free will.

A will that has been made free by God's grace, controlling the flesh as to not interfere and prohibit the desires of the Spirit for advancing the believer's spiritual life into gaining phenomenal amounts of knowledge from God's Word.
Knowledge from understanding many passages, not just the few pet doctrines, that some raise their banners of delusional victory about to rally together around.

We are not to remain spiritual babies as many do today.

There is much more to learn than many can imagine.

Therefore, let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity,
not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God."

Hebrews 6:1
So what?

How does knowing that (if it were true) get you to being mature and knowing the other 99.999999% of the Bible?

You guys are stuck in one tiny little spot.
You never grow beyond it.

Come back in ten years? You'll still be harping on the same banner of your self-glorying in what you think you know.

It's stupid!
For... No one can win such an argument.
It's a vicious cycle in reasoning.
And, that’s all they argue about.

I think Satan has a bunch of believers trapped in a no-growth state.
And, he likes it that way.

Keep in mind.
God has provided a few good teachers who are always growing.
They will be leading others as they themselves mature to join them in maturing in Christ.

This is dumb.
No spiritual growth.
Only an introspective, subjective, delusion of getting stronger and stronger in their one doctrine mentality.

And, ironically. They do it all by their free will to do so.

:coffee::coffee::coffee:
I've lost count of amount false images you've projected here, so much negativity from a biblical truth I share with you.

Like I said the pricked conscience it works just in the unsaved as it does the saved people.

It must do, if your saved and your response is to respond like this from a few simple truth you must me kicking against your prick, you must be.

You can't kick against my prick only I can do that.

It ls like this God chooses you and he also gives fruit, and he will give you enough fruit to last.

You can't give your self the fruit in your saved condition just like you can't prick your own conscience in your unsaved condition.

I wonder what is meant by when the holy spirit comes it will convict the world of sin,

Could it be the world is unable to convict it's self. Most likely

This is how the pricked conscience works in the old t too, there's no way to be saved unless you can be convicted, and you cant convict yourself, because you either need a Gods to prick your conscience or you need the fruits of the spirit to convict your heart.

You could say, the prick is a kiss from heaven and it started with a kiss.

If your conscience convicts you it shows that God is greater than your conscience,

So a bit of idea here, for those who are saved is this saying God is our conscience when this happens.

Bare in mind the conscience still gets stuff wrong in the saved condition.

"fault" is an odd choice of word for the works of God

:coffee::unsure:

How come you can get what I say when it works in your favor?
But always trip over your thoughts when you have no way around it?

That inconsistency gives you away.

1 Corinthians 3 v 19-21a, 1 Corinthians 1 v 19 ~ The wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness.” And again, “The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.” Therefore, stop boasting in men. For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.”

What has that got to do with understanding moral issues? You don't have to be spiritually alive to understand right from wrong and the need of a Saviour.

Why do you think Jesus spoke of earthly things? You think He was only talking to those who already believed in Him? He expected to be understood so people could believe in Him.

John 3:12
I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things?

You have people saved from death in order to save them from death. Not only is it illogical it becomes impossible for "whosoever" to believe, even if they wanted to, they cannot turn and obey the calling of God the Father. The corruption is in the flesh, not the heart so a person who lives in darkness can still yearn for the light when it is made known to them and the Lord is faithful and true to His Name as Saviour so that all are made aware of the truth but only those who respond positively are drawn and given to Christ..

God firmly placed the responsibility to believe on our shoulders, that is the one work God requires. Jn.6:29

It is we who reject God, not the other way round. As far as the Lord is concerned the barrier is removed thanks to Christ's work on the Cross and He has reconciled the world to Himself so that no-one is beyond redemption.

If you weren't so hard of heart you would see it.
Your entire post sounds really good, but it destroys grace. It totally does away with the truth that we are saved by grace.
According to you we must believe, we must turn and obey, we are able to yearn. I guess you are saying that if we do the things God will “save us”.. That is not grace, that is repaying someone for a work performed. Grace is free, it requires nothing to assist it.

Salvation is about God choosing man, it has never been a case of a man's choosing God. The words choose, choosest, chooseth, choosing and chose appear only a total of 7 times in the whole of the New Testament, and in NO instance are any of these words used in reference to a man choosing God. This is a highly significant and quite astonishing fact, which doubtless will come as no small surprise to those who have been taught and believe in man’s free-will decision for Christ. If the doctrine of free will were true, it would not be unreasonable to expect that at least one of these words in at least one of the almost 8,000 verses of the New Testament would make reference to a man's choosing God. BUT THERE ARE NONE!

Verse 13 is extremely relevant to the preceding verse. First of all God gave the right as opposed to anyone having an inalienable right to become children of God! We ultimately become "children of God" by the new birth which has nothing to do with human decision-making! V. 13 actually qualifies v. 12! (See also Jn 3:1-15.) Tell me: Was Issac's birth a natural or supernatural birth? Who decreed Issac's birth: Abraham, Sarah, God or all three?

Also, it's God who qualifies his elect to share in his inheritance (Col 1:12). No saint ever qualified him or herself!

If you were so "firmly aware" of these truths I just wrote, you wouldn't have written the garbage you did.
No one ever claimed man had such ability to do as you presumably believe the intention of the posts and discussion that was taking place.

And Verse 13 shows the origin of Salvation is from God alone to which absolutely no one is disputing.

Since you know. Please tell us what it is that grace does in saving us.
I would like to know what your concept of grace is in this matter.

thank you!

You have received the knowledge of the truth, yet though claiming to be a Christian, you reject Christ as THE Savior who is the Truth. Be very fearful indeed. You have been warned.

What a load of rubbish! According to your philosophy it is impossible for me not to believe or it's impossible for me to hear the truth and believe so your own words are your undoing.

I know to whom I belong. :)

Your entire post sounds really good, but it destroys grace.

No it doesn't. How do you think anyone sees the light? Everything God does is by means of grace. Grace is God's power to see His will done based on the integrity and fidelity of His nature.

We have a will by God's grace, we are breathing to use it by God's grace, it is by grace the truth is made known to us.

Nothing and no-one would exist if not for God's grace.

I guess you are saying that if we do the things God will “save us”..

No! That is what you are saying.

God is the one who decided to save believers, not me, not you and He gives us all we need to do just that (ie.believe) even from a fallen state. It was by means of grace Christ came, it is by means of grace the Spirit is in the world convicting it of right, wrong and judgement, it is by means of grace that a person can see the light and truth of Christ and it is by means of grace they can respond either positively or negatively.

If you think the only thing God's grace is good for is saving people, you don't know grace!

John15-16plusfrom1-Peter2-9.png

John 15 verse 16 plus from 1 Peter 2 verse 9 ~ You did not choose Me, but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit— fruit that will remain— so that whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give you. You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a people to proclaim the virtues of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

Define how grace operates in a person's life.

I have no idea what your concept is.
Maybe, if we knew?
We could better communicate.

Please....

Define using Scripture how grace operates in a person's life.

some people might think that's a bit fresh for a first date, and call the whole thing off!
yep it depends on how a person receives there post of morning to from the postman.

If your up and about and ready for anything, and your debt free, when the letter box clangs it's not so bad.

But if your riddled.with debt and letter box clangs you might start barking quite loud, like nebacaneza, you could feel like dooms day has landed or something.

I always say you can't have what I haven't got, simples.

Do you stand on its head

Or do you stand there and admire it nice colours on its wings, and then stand on its head

Or do you admire it nice colours on it's wings and stand there and look over it, and then watch it for a while before walking away.
