If you are "handy", you could take the bolt out and see if the firing pin appears to be all in one piece.... depending on how well it's been cleaned/oiled, etc, there could be some gunk in the channel that the firing pin rides in... if the oil sort of congeals in there, it could slow down or even stop the firing pin from going forward enough to protrude through the face of the bolt.... hence no dimple in the primer.
A good deep cleaning, perhaps even an ultrasonic bath might solve the problem... if the firing pin is broken or worn down, replacement should fix it.

I think it will save me a lot of bad words if I leave it to the gunsmith.😂

shoot, if you were close enough to the metroplex, I'd take a look at it for you.... I like tinkering with guns.... this doesn't sound like it would be too difficult... (famous last words, I know)

Yeah, it could possibly be the famous last words lol. My only concern is that the gunsmith will look at me with a cold stare and say: Ma’am, if you only had done this instead of that it wouldn’t be no problem…😂

Been there, for sure.... I just call it a "learning moment".... :D

I'm too old to get embarrassed over silly mistakes, especially out of ignorance. I can change that.... most of the time...:)

I hope you realized I was talking about myself here.... not anyone else. I make enough mistakes between ignorance and old age that I just don't worry about being "caught" anymore. If it's out of ignorance, I can correct that.... old age? not so much....:ROFL:

There is probably a you tube video on it to give you guidance on the process.
Helps me especially if there are "Gee Whiz" clips, you know, the kind that go flying and you say, "Gee whiz, I wonder where that went".:)(y):giggle::giggle:

No, it is a thread for the shooting sports.

Here's one that looks like lots of fun for the whole family.
You might have priced plates and other reactive targets. You know how expensive that can get.
This one only takes a few golf balls and a brick of 22s.

Love it! Our kids in training especially like reactive targets.
Putting backspin on them to bring them back is a lot harder than sending them out.
Thanks,
blessings:)

The U.S. Army Proximity Fuse-
This video brought out several points and the timing, Battle of the Bulge U.S. artillery commander went against direct orders and used them, initially in hot water, 2 days later and upon seeing the effectiveness, they were approved and 20,000 were relesed from stores. Hope you enjoy.

Saw this and wanted to share, some friends need a larger trigger guard-

That's wonderful! A new spin on the activity. Lol !
Glad they like that. Reactive targets are the way to go with new shooters, or those experts like Sam and Mark. That immediate feedback turns it into a game.

This is the first I've heard of this technology. It's incredible how reliable and deadly they were. Considering how lethal they were,
I can't imagine how technology has come since then. The PF would self detonate at the location it sensed troop formation! That's like science fiction clear back in WW2.

Thanks for sharing that history!

I've never shot a 2011 or variant, but those are another category that could be added to that list according to those with large hands like GunsNgadgets guy and a few Ytubers.
Sig and Kimber are trying to regain their reputations and market share with double stack 9s on the wider 1911 platform.

I like the concept, but they are very pricey and considerably heavier that the ultra lightweight high cap pistols that gained popularity recently. I think this Kimber is 35 ounces for the lightest model in this line.
Looks good and apparently has a better trigger than any of the strikers. Like anything, there's always trade-offs.

I went through this list and see you already had a Kimber on there. That's a good list for comparison.

I totally agree about ergonomics and pointability.

I think the ultimate handgun for very large hands would be the Desert Eagle. I got to shoot one of those in .357 mag once.... it felt like I was holding a 2 x 4 in my hand. Of course, recoil was almost non-existent with that caliber in that size handgun.

God, Family ,Guns is a you tube channel with good info, even he is reminding us the Federal government told us in early September to prepare. Take it to Him of course for His guidance.
