GENESIS 2:16-17
16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Why a question, where is no answer for? HE just did it.

Yes, we should not question God the Father in his commandment.
But we can ask him the reason why it is forbidden?

In Exodus Chapter 3 to 4. Look at the conversation of God the Father & Moises.
When God the Father sent Moises in Egypt. God the father was telling to Moises the reason why he sending him back to Egypt. And God the Father also said the reason why the Israelites should be bring out from Egypt.

This is why it is allowable to God to ask the reason why the Fruit is Forbidden.
Did God give you an answer to your question?

As we noticed Adam & Eve did not die when they eat the forbidden fruit.

In the eyes of Man they did not die.

But in the eyes of God Adam & Eve died on the day they eat the fruit.

ISAIAH 55:8-9
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

In our own understanding, dead people are those found in morgue and in cemetery.

Since God the Father is Speaking in Parables.
We must beg to him and ask for his Mercy so he will reveal the meaning of Dead. Because he said in Isaiah his thoughts is different from our thoughts.

If we want to learn from him, we should be like a pupil and he is the teacher.
Well, Adam and Eva died. Without their sin Was no reason to left the paradise. No reason that physical deadh came also to all creation! And they died also spiritual, seperated from Gods presence!
No Parabel, reality !

Did God give you an answer to your question?

God is always telling the Truth.
If we just humble ourselves he will answer our questions in his way and not in man's way.
2 CHRONICLES 7:17
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Yes, God gave me the answer for the reason why the fruit is forbidden to eat.

It's a bit hard to understand. It seems to me, the knowledge of good and evil is something reserved for God alone. The knowledge of good and evil in human hands leads to all kinds of problems since it involves good and evil from a human perspective.
It turns us into judges , judging each others behaviour , condemning each other . It's God's prerogative to judge us as only He knows our hearts .

So then what is the answer?

So then what is the answer?

Let us take note what Our Lord Jesus condition and warning when asking God.
If we can't follow the condition we will never understand God's answer in the questions.
The equivalent of the condition is To Humble Ourselves.
JAMES 1:5-8
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

But if we accept the condition (God knows what is in our heart and we never cheat him) or we humble ourselves, then God will give us understanding.
PROVERBS 2:6
6 For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

That passage says nothing about humility. You're committing eisegesis; inserting your own words into Scripture. That's not wise at all.

What I believe is missing from the picture is the history of what took place before God created man...

Satan and his angels had just wreaked havoc and disorder in the prehistoric angelic kingdom.
There was no resolve in sight to get Satan and his angels to admit wrong doing.
For prior to the fall of Satan, the only thing the angels knew was good without conflict.

That being so.
The angels had no understanding of what desires of evil motivation towards another had packed away in its luggage.

In order for God to teach them why Satan's desires were detestable?
God would need to create a means to teach the angels why simply an evil desire was condemnable.

How could God show the angels why Satan and his angels needed to be condemned?

One way would be to create a creature who by nature is sinful and harmful to others.
But, God can not be the author of sin.

So, what to do?

Answer:

Create perfect creatures without sin.
Then?
Let Satan himself destroy their perfection by causing them to sin, and to take on a fallen nature.

And, what would God have if Satan caused that to happen?
God would then have a perfect example of what the desire of Satan and his angels would have produced if allowed to.

For when fallen? And, a jealous man murdered?
The angels then knew what Satan's desire towards the Lord would have accomplished if allowed the freedom to express it.

For when Satan desired to make himself like the Most High?
He could not know what that desire would produce when he had no knowledge of how to achieve it.

For what Satan desired when he wanted to make himself to be like the Most High?
Was to assassinate the Lord and take his place!

But? No angel could even understand what murder out of jealosusy is.
For they all were created originally into a sinless world!
There was no frame of reference to understand what was bad about Satan's jealous desire.

Such an evil thing was unknown to them in the world they had lived in.
For the angels had all been created sinless and with no knowledge of seeing the effects of jealousy and murder.

So for God to provide His teaching tools for the angels?
Man was created sinless, as only God could create them to be.
As long as man remained sinless, there could be no teaching the angels what jealousy and murder are.

And, the ironic twist?

When Adam fell?
Satan thought he was hurting God in doing so?
God now had his Evidence A in the conviction of Satan to the Lake of Fire!

For now on, God could show the angels why Satan's desire towards God was absolutely inexcusable and condemnable.
Thus, show them the meaning to the desire by what fallen men would produce overtly against each other.

Grace and peace.....

Yes I'm not wise as you said.
But it is not strange when you consider yourself as wise.
Because you don't know who God the Father is you are considered as wise.
MATTHEW 11:25
25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

If the truth in the words of God is hidden to the wise, the reason of God why the fruit is forbidden never reveal to them.

Nope, you said, that you got the answer from God. So what is his answer? It should be easy for you to tell.

why does the scripture admonish us to "be as wise, not unwise" and chastise us for being babes when we should be mature?

did Satan's fall and his deception of 1/3 of the angels occur prior to Genesis 3 or after?

A day in the eyes of the Lord is like a thousand years and a thousand years a day. I believe that Adam lived to be 934. Not sure how long Eve lived but probably somewhat lower. In the eyes of God, Adam died the day he partook of the forbidden fruit. Now, we are all in the process, of some degree or another, of dying. Time to start living while it is still called Today.

This is how Jesus referred to an unregenerated person.

He said to another man, “Follow me.”

But he replied, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.”

Jesus said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go
and proclaim the kingdom of God.”

Luke 9:59-60

Yes... Adam did die.
He instantly died, 'spiritually.'

hope that helps...

When Satan fell it was before God created man in his image.

then the evidence of Satan's sin was already in the record - - mankind, the world, we are the evidence of God's goodness before the angels, who watched the creation, and Him working salvation, and now watch our redemption drawing nigh :)

If we consider a day to God is equivalent of thousand years to a man.
I think even Adam & Eve did not eat the forbidden fruit they still die on that day.
