I don't know if that's a Freudian slip, or an admission, or what."Poor you, you didn't."

The Spirit will convict the WORLD.....ALL people. Bible.Faith is the product of the work of the Spirit employing the word of God. One is saved through faith. We believe as a result of the work of God in us.
in agreement God creates the new man within the born again one.God discards the old natural man within us in its entirety and replaces with the new man. God does it all
the tenor of this thread does not support your claim that "man does nothing".rogerg said:man does nothing.
[Eph 4:24 KJV] 24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
[Col 3:10 KJV] 10 And have put on the new [man], which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
Show me. You didn't in any response to me.And yet, I did.
You claim to be a brother in Christ. I was correcting you for bearing false witness to your neighbor. Or was I wrong in assuming you have already saved?Show me. You didn't in any response to me.
You chose The Lord Jesus Christ. I have no doubt.I have no room for boasting. You, however have much to boast about, and you do frequently. "Look at me, I chose God! Poor you, you didn't. I'm better than you."
1 John 1:9You claim to be a brother in Christ. I was correcting you for bearing false witness to your neighbor. Or was I wrong in assuming you have already saved?

In 1 Cor 2 verse 14, the natural man, still unsaved, cannot comprehend the spiritual things of God. He does not understand Christ’s atoning sacrifice, for that is foolishness to him (1 Cor 1 verse 18). The Holy Spirit Himself must convict him of its reality, and of his standing before God (John 16 verses 7-11).So this natural man is unregenerated, one who does not have the Holy Spirit residing within him. As Jesus said, “Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit” (John 3 verse 6).
I have no room for boasting. You, however have much to boast about, and you do frequently. "Look at me, I chose God! Poor you, you didn't. I'm better than you."
Understanding that you are a sinner doesn't save anyone. Faith doesn't come by knowing you are a sinner. The Spirit will convict the WORLD.....ALL people. Bible.
@Cameron143 ......Faith is the product of being saved/regenerated.
@Cameron143 ....One is saved and THEN one has faith.
@Cameron143 .....You believe as a result of being saved/regenerated.
Yes."believe" is, but "shall be saved" is future. Why future?
According to you, isn't someone saved WHEN they believe?
Dear Edith... making mundane choices is not the issue nor is it really the crux of the convo... that is just
a distraction from the real point which Scripture teaches: man is a slave to sin until set free by Jesus.
As a lover of darkness and slave to sin taken captive to do the will of the devil, the unregenerated
person refuses to come into the light and does not seek for God, Whom he hates, being hostile in
his mind towards and opposed to the spiritual things of God which he cannot comprehend.

"Free will" in the Bible? ~ Freedom is something believers are called to (Galatians 5 verse 13). We need Jesus to “set us free” (Galatians 5 verse 1). If Jesus has not freed us from the bondage of sin, then we are still slaves to sin (Romans 6 verses 6-7). Freedom is found in the presence of the Spirit (2 Corinthians 3 verse 17). Only Jesus can give us true freedom (John 8 verse 36). Only through His lovingkindness can we truly make choices unfettered by a nature that is inherently hostile toward God.
in agreement God creates the new man within the born again one.
Where is the phrase...choose to believe God...in the Bible?Silly rationalization....
And, an excuse for your denial.
The boasting the Bible speaks of?
Was targeting at the works crowd who were proud from thinking God must save them because of all the good deeds they do.
That is why it says... "Not of works, so no one can boast."
By the way...
We do not *choose* God.
We choose to believe God.
You keep distorting it.
Thank you for clearing that up.Understanding that you are a sinner doesn't save anyone. Faith doesn't come by knowing you are a sinner.
"work" is "meritorious."You chose The Lord Jesus Christ. I have no doubt.
Believing in the Lord Jesus Christ is non-meritorious......It is the same "work" all of us MUST do to be saved.
Another verse referenced without context or commentary. It's of no use to you or me.1 John 1:9
You don't believe in the Lord Jesus Christ?"work" is "meritorious."
