I've no issue with works, as you indicate - this is what faith should produce. But as soon as one gets works mixed up with how one is saved, it becomes a damnable heresy.
Agreed.

so are works part of being saved by faith though ? And without works faith is dead ?
“God “will repay each person according to what they have done.
” To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life.
But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger.”
Romans 2:6-8
I think this thread is for talking about the evils of Christians (or those claiming to be so) twisting scripture to try to justify the heinous crimes of the modern state of Israel.
Oh, but it was though. And it's a very important piece of Land.
Because I have 10 fingers and the 10 virgins parable is like the parable of the wheat and the tares. Why?

Because I have 10 fingers and the 10 virgins parable is like the parable of the wheat and the tares.
the Kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our God.
In the parable of the wheat and the tares the sickle is the word of God.Yeah, but why do you have the scythe to the wise maids? What do you do to the unwise maids?
Just curious.

Self-seeking is a bad translation IMO. I just don't see it in the definition. I think it refers to a gainsaying, divisive, contentious attitude.
G2052 ἐριθεία eritheia (e-riy-thei'-a) n.
1. (properly) intrigue.
2. (by implication) faction.
Not yet. Not until the 7th trumpet sounds
And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become [the kingdoms] of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. Revelation 11:15
The land was a foreshadowing of the true Israel.
Genesis 22:18
And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.
The people with the Holy Spirit are scattered across the land like the Levites were and are a blessing to all nations because we dwell in all nations.the Kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our God.
Even now I feel like this is a foreshadowing of the power of the Holy Spirit and will pale in comparison after the marriage supper of the lamb spoken in Revelation.

Indeed ! all people are now included but in tbe ot it was only Jews or Jewish converts .But we don't replace the Jews. We are grafted in.

Saved by grace through faith,Saved BY grace FOR good works.
yeah so kind of a “a selfish attitude driven by pride “ seems bout right
did you notice how they rejected the truth and followed unrighteousness ?
“And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away? For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.”
Luke 9:23, 25-26 KJV
the others were believers who followed after the gospel the word of God
The whole Bible? I'm not sure If I follow what you're trying to say.So what specific word of God is directed at the wise maids?
What about the unwise maids?

Yeah I can understand what you meanThe problem I have with the way the word self is used is because it can mean different things. Self is who we are, ie our identity. We are commanded to love our self. When I seek to do good and deny the flesh I am seeking what is best for my self, so I am self-seeking just as much as someone who is selfish is self-seeking. When Jesus said to deny ourselves he meant to deny this temporal earthly life so that we may secure the eternal heavenly life.
