Just thought I’d make a thread to share our healthy breakfast options for the day and maybe learn about new healthy alternatives to the breakfasts we already eat.

Today’s breakfast consists of:
1. Protein oatmeal with died apple pieces
2. A banana
3. Black pepper whole pistachios
4. And Poppi, a prebiotic soda brand that I’ve been buying lately for gut health.

Just waiting for the oatmeal to cool down. I also might have put too much water in the oatmeal.

I learned more about oatmeal from @CarriePie who has been eating oatmeal daily for breakfast for years. She got me onto eating oatmeal and now I plan on eating it every day. I’ve noticed a big difference in the way I feel and look, which overall boosts my mood. Highly recommend.

I miss oatmeal. Unfortunately it spikes my blood sugar too much.

Does it really? I had no idea oatmeal had that big of an effect on blood sugar.

I used to be very cautious about spiking blood sugar, on a ketogenic diet for like 7 years, even though I wasn’t diabetic. I just ate that way because apparently it helps the brains of those with psychotic diagnosis’ like myself. It helped a bunch for the longest time but now they have me on like state of the art prescription meds, so I don’t have to be on a super strict diet like keto….for now.

Everyone's different. I did a two-step test and it spiked 100 pts.

Quiche Loraine - not prepared by me, but an excellent rendition!
Oh- and a large glass of pink grapefruit juice.

I’m not sure what Quiche Loraine is @Caan what is that?

Also, I don’t know how anyone drinks grapefruit juice. I’ve had it many times but I just can’t get it done sometimes. Family loves it though.

Grits, eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuit with real butter and blue berry jelly, and a large cup of coffee.

I used to have that same breakfast and loved every moment of it.

i used to be a Diet Coke fiend
My wife likes Pepsi Zero Sugar. All pop beverages have to be Zero Sugar. She likes a lot of bottled water too.

I prefer coffee, OJ and occasionally, bottled Perrier. It's seriously fizzy for sure.

For breakfast it is usually a Jimmy Dean breakfast bowl, toast with Country Crock and jam, an OJ. Quick and easy with little fuss and mess to clean up.

I was doing the zero sugar for a while too until I saw it had aspartame in it which makes me gain weight. I found that the prebiotics sodas help with that but they are just so expensive.

I also noticed that I’m like a freak when it comes to coffee, it gives me anxiety and I’m less productive but when I don’t drink coffee, I don’t have anxiety and I’m more productive.

I love OJ in the morning, especially Simply Orange Juice ultrapasturized no pulp. I wouldn’t mind pulp though.

When it comes to Perrier or unsweetened but flavored carbonated water, I tend to add stevia in it to sweeten it up. So it’s basically like a normal soda.

Those jimmy dean bowls are not bad, quick and easy; especially for a real working man like yourself.

It was technically lunch, considering the time it was eaten but I had Hawaiian chicken long rice today.

It’s a soup like dish, kinda like chicken noodle soup, except the noodles are almost like angel hair noodles.

It also has chunks of ginger in the soup and probably my favorite dish that my mother makes.

I also had a cold brew coffee with Starbucks cold brew concentrate that you get from the store (I highly recommend not buying it as it is not a wise financial decision unless you absolutely have to have the Starbucks taste …and maybe quality). Along with the concentrate and water, I added Nutpods Burnt Marshmellow Coconut Almond Creamer, which has no dairy products that I know of in it and almost is calorie free, rather than using heavy cream every day like I was during which can spike cholesterol big time, cause high blood pressure, cause you to gain a lot of weight fast and potentially make you diabetic. Oh, and I added a hint of stevia for a sweetener with a zero glycemic index sweetener that doesn’t spike blood sugar.

I’d show the drink but I’m pretty sure everyone here knows what coffee with cream in it looks like.

Had 6 flour tortilla chicken taquitos and a fruit punch prebiotic soda.

Now I’m having that Starbucks concentrate cold brew from yesterday…the quality is high but the price and what you get out of it is absolutely insane….i think I might get like 3-4 big coffee cups out of this concentrate, when you can just buy the powdered version for around the same price and have it last for like a month.

Anyways, no pictures today.
