Zelensky is currently holding power illegally: he cancelled elections so he couldn't be removed from power, then he declared martial law to take brutal control of the country and suspend people's rights. Then he took state control of almost all media. He is literally a dictator... literally.
These are all things people prognosticate that Trump will do, leftists are all terrified Trump will do these very things... and yet, they support a man who has ALREADY DONE THEM. The left is supporting a literal dictator... and it wouldn't be the first time. Just look at South America.

After watching the entire video I think Z's thinking is just that. Ukraine is either going to be overrun and Putin will just keep going into Poland and onward or the EU,NATO,US are going to draw a line in the sand somewhere in the end. It seems reasonable that he would want the line to be drawn in Ukraine to save his people also but I think he knows it wont really happen and so they will end up overrun. Given the size of Putin's army and him ordering it's enlargement over the last six month's shows his true intentions. It's just best at this time to back out of the deal with Z and blame it on him than sign the deal put soldiers there and watch them end up overrun with Ukraine's. Since Putin already has 600.000 troops in the battle they would invade as fast or faster than the EU or the US could put their troops in Ukraine.
The latest news from Zelensky after being coached during his European tour is that he is trying to apologize to Trump and wants to sign the minerals deal.

Putin just offered us a mineral deal... thus leaving Zelensky with very little negotiating room, and very little time to play games.
I suspect he's feeling very nervous.
It's like Putin saying out loud, "Don't worry America, if we crush Zelensky, you'll be fine. We give you minerals."

C'mon brother.
I'm surprised someone in Texas has this mindset but the global powers are not going to fight each-other directly. We've been over this.
The last time the global powers try to attack each-other directly was during the Cuba blockade.
Global powers fight each other in proxy wars. They always have, always do.
Also we've talked about how Putin for years has said "I don't want Nato near my borders".
It's similar to USA not wanting Russian nukes off the coast of CUBA during the crisis.
The sad part is always the innocent that die in proxy wars when the powers test new equipment.
This is the sad part, and Trump is approaching this on a humanitarian basis to stop the killings and the bullets as he said, and then on a monetary basis.

I have yet to see any evidence that indicates Putin is in a battle for Europe.
We can all pretend to be mind readers, but I simply haven't seen any evidence to indicate his sights are on Europe.
In fact, if you consider the state of Russia's economy, and the state of it's military, it seems a bit ludicrous.
Just my view.

There you go Cuba blockade, think like that because we are as close to the 60's as we ever were since the 60's. The only difference is Ukraine is right next to Russia and the wind blows from the west to the east and that would cause Putin to do things with measure to so the fallout doesn't blow back across Moscow. This is off the table now though because we don't have troops in Ukraine and so we need to draw another line farther west.

Well, fwiw, he has at least managed to create some saber-rattling in Europe. Just what the world needed right now. Another entity presenting their nuclear weapons to the world.
America has spent decades cooperating with Europe to keep Russia at bay.

On the first page someone posted the entire meeting but it's really interesting to put some ear plugs in and watch Z's and Trumps facial expressions and head reactions to what each other is saying. Z shakes his head no multiple times and Trump wrinkles his eyebrows at Z's responses and changes the subject. It was a really bad amateur mistake to take a leader and sit him in a televised negotiation without discussing the plan with him first and Z lets the cat out of the bag to the Russians.
