Nah why make excuses for Zelensky? He is a fool, Trump could have really mogged him harder and held back punches if anything. Let him have elections again and let Zaluzhnyi become President and lowkey exile Zelensky to Britain in his place lol.
Elections now, unconstitutional under the constitution of Ukraine would only mean Putin would get his big day by meddling in.
Problem is that Trump, Vance and Zelensky are diplomatic novices and prone to micromanaging. What happened in the Oval Office should have been taken care of before the meeting.
Agree to a ceasefire and hold negotiations is the answer. Why doth the fool of Ukraine Zelesnkyi resist then the ceasefire and chance to hold elections? So you can see the self-perpetuating cycle of the problem where the problem is not their system, it is Zelensky and they had suspended the elections in the midst of the war. Since there is Zaluzhnyi there is also a realistic plan of succession as well. Zelensky has less options in a country that drove one President into exile and threw the other one, his immediate predecessor into prison, being re-rolled into the Ambassador to Britain where he sent Zaluzhnyi after making him step down from his winning generalship might not prove too bad a deal nor too unrealistic.
What would you do if we were attacked like Ukraine was? We would have done the same thing like after Pearl Harbor. Fighting the enemy by all means. How can we demand anything less from another country being attacked in the same way?
Some countries, amongst them your own country, should be thankful that we don’t spend much time on vacation. For your information I used to spend my days as a captain at a precinct in Houston when I was not in the Navy. These days I’m spending most of my time on a naval vessel.

You know what's really great, is we don't even need to worry about that invasion under Trump. Nevertheless to give you a straight answer, of course we'd have fought back and sought for aid too, but then that's basically admitting again to the point Zelensky certainly is rude for a head of state in a weak position. I think our representative would have better attitude when begging America for help, but alas in the scenario where our country gets invaded we are America there is no one that would you know just spot us like 400 billion dollars and the highest tier warfare technology.
Nah that's a foolish thought. Trump is far superior to Putin and even Putin knows it, that's part of why there is even chance at peace but the other part is God, God is giving blessings he has given a big one here a rare historic chance for peace via diplomacy. Putin desires peace and has been most compliant because he needs peace just as much as Ukraine, though he can win the war long term it might cost the entire Russian State and system and they could certainly collapse from all the pressures. There is a raw irony I am seeing in European news that the Western leftists are trying to undermine the peace talks but so are the hardliner Russian milbloggers, they are ironically united in try to thwart a rare opportunity for peace via diplomacy just to kill eachother and themselves.
