No. I once simply accepted the so-called orthodox claims about the nature and character of God and time. But I kept reading the Bible, and gave it greater weight than theologians.
I think one of the reasons people choose to take an “open view” of the future is because of Calvinisms’ view of it.

@PaulThomson

let me ask you this - -

1. did God know you would be saved, the day you were born?
2. does God know whether you will still be saved thrusday after next?

make the connections.
1.
I don't believe He did.

2.
We have a different idea of what is meant by "saved Thursday after next".
I see a difference between "was saved", "being saved" and "will be saved".
I see "being saved" as "having the Holy Spirit dwelling in me ", not merely "me having the Spirit".
If I am living from the old man right now, I am not being saved right now.
Does God know today whether I will be walking in the Spirit Thursday next? I don't believe He does.

If God can't see into the future why would you expect he can?
There seems to be a qualitative difference between God knowing the future (because He determines how it will flow according to His predestined plan of salvation) and God knowing how future volitional (and therefore morally accountable) souls will choose to swim within that river.

have you ever read 1 Peter 2:10? once you were not a people, but now you are...? this absolutely is not referring to Israel, but to the church.
The Jews have been set aside right now during the church age. In Christ, there is neither Jew nor Gentile. They will become a people again in the last days.

Scriptural references would be helpful, because it is necessary to distinguish between saved/spiritual Jews = the church
and unsaved cultural Jews. Thanks.

The nation of Israel, the Jews, the twelve tribes of Israel. Read Romans 11 and Galatians 3:28.

Okay, thanks.

GL 3:28 teaches that Christians are spiritual Jews.
RM 11:7 teaches that most physical Jews were/are not saved/elect.
In 11:11-14 Paul hopes that salvation coming to Gentiles will prompt Jews to believe.
11:17-22 teaches that Jews are rejected because of unbelief, and Gentiles need to learn to persevere in saving faith.
11:23-24 says that Jews who repent will be saved.
11:25-32 indicates that all Jews who are alive at some time will repent before the end.
11:33-36 praises God.

You said: "The Jews have been set aside right now during the church age... They will become a people again in the last days."

IMO, Jews who reject Christ are lopped off or set aside, and all Jews living in the last days will become Christians.

GL 3:28 teaches that Christians are spiritual Jews. Nope, not even close.
RM 11:7 teaches that most physical Jews were/are not saved/elect. Wrong again, elect is never to salvation, but service.
In 11:11-14 Paul hopes that salvation coming to Gentiles will prompt Jews to believe.
11:17-22 teaches that Jews are rejected because of unbelief, and Gentiles need to learn to persevere in saving faith. Salvation is secure.

1. Wanna bet? (RM 2:28-29)
2. Both-and.
3. Yay!
4. Secure unless/until lopped for disbelief.
5. So Jews who repent before the end are NOT saved?!
6. Yay!
7. Too easy!
