"The First Amendment protects everyone in the United States, including foreign citizens studying at American universities," said Carrie DeCell, senior staff attorney at the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University. "Deporting non-citizens on the basis of their political speech would be unconstitutional."
I think such an interpretation is idiotic. To me a student visa is like the US inviting an exchange student to come and live in their house. Obviously the home owner retains their rights in that situation to ask the student to leave.
Whether or not you agree with this order and I think it has a whole lot to do with how it is carried out, it is patently absurd to claim it is unconstitutional. It is perfectly reasonable to ask people applying for student visas political questions about whether or not they support the US government. It is also perfectly legal to conclude that the participation in some of these protests contradicted what they said on their form and thus their answer was fraudulent.
Now I understand that some of those protests were extremely anti semitic indicating a desire to completely annihilate Israel from the face of the earth. To me it is simply common sense that anyone chanting for the annihilation of Israel that was here on a student visa be told to leave.
Our Constitutional form of Government was meant for a Godly people, not a satan worshiping occult religion.
Our first war was with the muslim Barbary pirates

If they can punish non-citizens from expressing speech, what’s to stop them from attempting to stop citizens from expressing their free speech?
ZNP you seem well aware of what’s going on in the world. The United States is no longer the economic world leader. They’re attempting to take away our right to protest so that when supply chain shortages happen, and the people protest the government will have the right to forcefully end those protest.

Donald thinks he has a mandate from God; that makes him doubly dangerous. If God saved him from assassination and appointed him to whip the US into shape, then I suppose anything he can dream up will be okay in his mind. If you answer directly to God, what right does Congress and the Constitution have to interfere.

I understand the concern over where this is going and how will it be enforced. But claiming that some Palestinian here on a student visa has a constitutional right to scream about Israel being guilty of genocide and calling for them to be annihilated from the river to the sea is ridiculous.
