Prophesy?
It is really called "insight."

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight,
so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ."

Philippians 1:9-10
yes it is what would you consider prophecy if not that?

You have not proven anything....

You simply have a list of names of people who lacked discernment on the topic.
.....
Those men knew the Apostles and their disciples. You don't need discernment when you are able to ask the source for the interpretation and then write it down like they did.

You are in complete denial.

Many things were not yet understood.
Just look where the Roman Catholic Church dredged everyone into!

That only reveals you haven't understood what I've been saying.
Have you forgotten what started this conversation and the question you asked? It has nothing to do with God speaking outside of scripture. I would never argue with that, I know He speaks outside scripture but everything He says can be found in scripture. It is how we know it is God speaking. Many get led astray because they hear something "godly" sounding but, not knowing the scriptures well enough, they jump off the path. This is why sometimes we must wait for the truth and we can do so patiently because the Lord promises to lead us in paths of righteousness. We just need to keep our head down (in the word) and our bottoms up (in case they need a quick rap from the Lord). ;)

As far as I'm concerned you have gone off on another one of your tangents. Can we get back to your original question or are you done?

Everything God says may be undergirded in principle by scripture, but not everything He says is found in scripture.

Have you ever asked God for guidance on buying a home or choosing employment? Have you never heard God's voice in the voice of another? Have you never received a witness of the Spirit when someone shares something with you? Does God still speak through dreams and visions? Have you never heard His still small voice?

I realize this subject is controversial to many for a variety of reasons, but if the Christian life is to be one of praying without ceasing, and prayer at its basest level is a conversation with God, hearing Him speak is essential to following.

Of course I have and I apply the scriptures. I trust Him to lead me in His path (Ps.23:3) and work things out for my good (Rom.8:28) and this is exactly what He does. I have lost count of the number of prayers I have had answered.

Best of all there are times when, having asked for something, He adds a little more to the blessing.

So anyway, are we done with this tangent? Back to your original question now?

To those who have had prayers answered by a message by the spirit of the Lord.

Was it a scripture saying?
An actual message? Either a direct quote or a reference to a scripture passage/person.

But there are other ways God answers prayer and fulfills scripture.

An example? The unit I'm in I bought a few years back. I had some very specific requirements (re health) and some desires re preferred lifestyle. Not only did I find everything I asked for in this unit, the exact pieces of furniture I needed were thrown in with the deal. I didn't ask for furniture as I had the necessary money, but it saved me thousands and I was able to visit my family down south instead without having to watch my pennies and could lavish more on them.

Philippians 4:19
And my God will supply your every need according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

Psalm 37:4
Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

We've proven by a list of first hand Church Fathers closest to the Apostles claimed no gift ends until Jesus returns. Judgement Day is going to be eye opening for some here.
The idea that the gifts ceased in the 1st century is a very new one.

https://biblehub.com/commentaries/1_corinthians/13-10.htm

Even all the commentaries from the not-so early church agree with us. They agree: the gifts cease when the Lord returns.

There is a lot that can be said regarding things they fail to say in those commentaries you linked to like what most people seem to fail to recognise is that Paul only said three of the gifts will cease, not all of them. Also, one has to wonder is it even possible to come to a complete knowledge of God for that is what they intimate? If knowledge and prophecy still operate, why do the majority of Christians recognise that anything said must be tested against scripture? If those two gifts operate we should be very open to learning new things about God and hearing about new things He plans to do, things that are not revealed in the written word. You all open to that? I know of a creature who would love to tell you some things you have never heard. ;)

Maybe it will be the last chance..... for a revival.

That would mean it would take place just before the Rapture.
