Our church teaches baptism is a profession of faith, not what saves,
You are saved by faith, then and you profess your faith during your baptism. There will be an oral profession in front of the entire congreration and I had to take a class, ooh I have an interview on Sunday too with the head pastor.. My church doesn't mess around and after baptism I will formally be a member of the church with voting rights.

Salvation Army and Quakers do not baptize.

The more important question is which churches do not baptize so that we may have the remission of sins?

In other words, getting wet as a outward sign is not baptism but simply a man-made tradition.

Matthew 15:3
Jesus replied, “And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition?

We meet in a rented building so there is no place to baptize.
We have to make arrangements with sister church 12 miles away to use their building.
Usually within a week or two.
We will be moving into our new building in Dec so the wait will no longer be necessary.
But we do make sure those who are baptized understand it is not a part of salvation but should follow salvation.

Your personal belief that you were given the remission of sins in your bedroom does not have authority in this discussion and this is what you are implying.

There's a lot of things the Salvation Army doesn't do.... not a very strong argument....

We don't baptize someone so that they will be a member of our congregation.... we baptize to fulfil scriptural commands, for forgiveness of sins, and so that the person can receive the indwelling Spirit... just as scripture says.
It's not so you can be a member of an earthly "club"....

Hardly, the Roman institution 'put water' on me for 'my parents' profession of faith?

27 years later, it was "over the telephone" a special southern lady of Christ
explaining The Precious BLOOD Of Christ On The Cross! (link credit to Neh6)
to me [ and my 'profession of faith' = 45 years ago ]

A year later a COC preacher said I should [ Immediately ( to get saved? ) ] get in
their water, so I did, but not until the next Sunday...

A couple of more years went by, and the baptist church said I should get in their
water, so 'the next Sunday' I did as they said...

...wah! What do 'babies' in Christ know anyway...

So, if Romanism isn't correct, Protestantism IS Correct? If so, why are they ALL so
"DIVIDED Up" and have 14 Different Varieties / Traditions of water baptism???

Years later, after 'growing up some' did I possibly/maybe(?) find the Truth?:

Three baptisms, Rightly Divided (2 for yesterday/1 for Today)
+
ONE Baptism! (The Only 1 For Today)

And, Still unanswered?:
I have decided to follow Jesus?

Please, carry on...

in reverse, you can't be a church voting member w/o being baptized.

Don't know where you live, but there are other places suitable for baptisms.... my great aunt was baptized in the pool at the YMCA, because they had a lift for disabled people...
We have had two teens baptized in our pool at our house.
A bathtub is not out of the question....

Your church teaches tradition.

The Bible teaches:

1st Peter 3:21

Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

The sister church is convenient.
But we have also baptized in the river in the middle of winter and one 12 year old in a bathtub.
As long as the water is deep enough.

CHuckle!!!! you "opinion" is noted. Whether YOU like it of not Salvation is by FAITH - plus nothing. Baptism has nothing to do with being Born Again. (Eph 2:8,9)

Some of the confusion may stem from Paul, who we have received most gospel revelation from. Apparently baptism was not a part of his ministry

I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius; Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name. And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other. For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. 1 Corinthians 1:14-17​

If water baptism is essential, why would God have made Paul not have it be an integral part of his message?

You can give a testimony at any time; but I can personally assure you that YES, there are churches that do baptisms WITHOUT the person doing a testimony, or speaking at all.
Nevertheless; a public testimony isn't really required. Belief is required.

He can! But that is not the main purpose. A testimony can be given at any time.

Not every "church body" is the church body and not every "baptism" is a baptism. If a "church body" is using baptism as a mere ritual social event, I speak against it in good conscience.

Once again, what happened in your bedroom on Wednesday night has no bearing on this issue. Regardless of what you think happened cannot change scripture, this is what you seem to not understand.

Eph. 2:8-9 does not negate the purpose of water baptism in scripture. Try again.
