You show me where I said that "the Bible" has such a prophecy and I will show you the verse.

Or you could actually try listening to what I said and not keep using deception to interpose your disingenuous arguments.
Then how is it all a clear prophecy from God if one does not know the prophet or the prophecy itself besides you? Even that aside though, I maintain steadfast, Halloween was created by the Christians, not the pagans, in fact with a bit of an ironic twist they were made to celebrate those that destroyed the pagans from off the face of the Earth. You have expresed anxiety over the witchcraft and stuff like that, I frankly thought you would cite those verses and attempt then to stretch them. To my chagrin you cited the passages about prophecy still being for today and the gifts and such as if I were an unbeliever, but ah now I have you in even your own trap since by your own account I need to test the spirits and their words which brings back to this prophecy only you know. So where is it then? I am still waiting. I'm no unmarried woman so I am no witch I assure you neither on Halloween nor all the other days of the year. Again if they do evil on Halloween it will be as if they did evil any day of the year, doesn't change the historical reality and truth about why Halloween was made and the rightful intention behind it to honor the mighty saints of Lord Jesus eternal blessed army.

Ok Christmas still isn't here so I guess I will put my 50 cents in on this. Growing up we always went out trick or treating. We'd put on our costumes and then our snowsuit, cause, you know, Canada. A lot of times it was something blended with makeup our mother would do for us. We did that until an old time pastor came to our church and preached the hell out of us, or into us, IDK but everyone stopped celebrating Halloween after that fiery sermon on it. Our parents would take us out to what ever was our favorite restaurant during Halloween to make up for it. By the time that pastor left we were too old to go out.

So fast forward to today. I was with my sister when she dressed up her boys as firemen or whatever and I have a great nephew now that is 9 mons and will be dressed up. My feeling about Halloween is that we have made a way that kids can participate that doesn't get in to demons and witches and that side of things. Also it's much safer than when we were kids. The trunk or treat, which was more popular here than home but I think they caught up. Dress as your favorite Bible character and celebrate with your church family, I don't see any wrong there. It's become a more adult holiday than ever before, but I think Christians can stay away from the dark side of Halloween and not be going against anything the Bible would say. JMO

Eeeee! How is honey bunny doing? Nine months? What adorable things can he do now??? What Bible character is he going to dress as for halloween? No matter what, I know he's going to look SO CUTE!!!! :giggle:

On a re-look, it looks like the other poster was simply misapplying your post to mine. I certainly hope that is the case since I'm sad enough about that other poster suddenly turning on me. If so, I apologize for my mistake and am hopeful for peace. I have shed enough tears tonight over the matter.
There is nothing on this whole forum that is worth tears. If there are tears, this forum is being taken much too seriously.

My primary disagreement with you is how you insulted and accused somebody who disagreed with you. Your reaction to his disagreement was unwarranted, harmful and requires apology.

But instead of that, you keep doubling down.

Lol, he's almost walking now and beginning to talk. He loves music and tapping his little hands to the beat. I'm not sure what they are going to dress him as yet. It's looking like rainy weather this time round so we will have to see what happens.

I think I remember that his dad has musical talent - it looks like he will have it too! it's always so exciting to discover what children's talents are. I hope someone puts him around some musical instruments to see what he might gravitate to.

The smaller and younger the kid, the more they gravitate toward percussion. =^.^=

Yes, both parents are musical, they both play several instruments. They are going away for a week and asked my mother if she would like to look after him. She said yes, and she's in her 70s. I said "Mom did you even think about how much energy it takes to look after a 9 Month old??!" She said " well I have you to help". Oh boy, the fun we will have! I will be dead by weeks end. rofl He's a really good boy though, so that helps a lot.

I do admit being the sister with no kids, it has always been fun to get my sisters boys the loudest toys and instruments. The drum set was a particular favorite of mine. I give a big smile when she looks at me like "that's for all the times you hogged the bathroom and wouldn't let me in to get ready to go out". rofl

Oh wow, BOTH parents have musical talent? This is going to be awesome!

I'm also happy that he has Christian relatives - will that be okay with his parents if you talk to their honey bunny about Jesus? I think your nephew will be okay with that. But I hope his wife will be okay with it too.

No I don't want an apology. Lol don't feel offended on my behalf I got this lol I don't need no help. I don't really care about insults or any of that as long as I get to throw my position and snapback all is fair in love and war. It's real simple I ain't testing God. I'm gonna maintain my original position which is Halloween is to celebrate the saints, Halloween historically made by the Christians, therefore Halloween in and of itself is not pagan. I actually do to a degree agree with her stance against witches and pagan, after all the most true and faithful saints and Christians we honor on Halloween destroyed many of the actual witches and pagans. I am just asking for that prophecy then and what prophet spoke about Halloween that I may test the spirits as is impressed upon me as a believer in God, prophecy, and the Bible. I know my Bible and I know my God pretty well, I think I will be able to tell very quickly whether it is just a false prophecy or whether I need to confess and repent of the times I dressed up as the ninja turtle, red power ranger, and Ken Griffey Jr. until the 5th grade when I became simply just too cool in skool for trick or treat lol. I will sweeten the deal, if it can be proven that God expressly commanded that Halloween is pagan, then I will logically have no problem for repenting and making full confession in all my partakings in Halloween in my youth, after all it's been literally decades for me since I really participated in Halloween's more secular aspects. Still though not gonna ever repent of honoring the true saints of Jesus and stating the truth that this is the actual origin of Halloween as it was intended when the Christians made it a holiday and that the receipts that I have shared already that led me to this belief show it pretty soundly.

Yeah. I figured you were okay.

I objected to what she said, not because I was getting really offended for your sake, but because that was something she really should not have done. If she keeps going like this she's eventually going to hurt somebody who will NOT be okay. If she hasn't already....

It's all good, let's see where it goes.

Thanksgiving is coming soon! Is anyone else not celebrating it? I don't have anything against it, I just don't plan to celebrate it.

I was just thinking today that Thanksgiving is going to be here soon. This season is moving faster than I can keep up with it. Though I don't intend to celebrate it, the realization that it's fast approaching made me start pondering what groceries I need to stock up on before the stores become madness.

I'll be honest, I'm disappointed that you won't be celebrating it. I've seen your baking/cooking and I was looking forward to all the yummy-looking food you were going to make and post to this thread for Thanksgiving!

Let's see, thanksgiving is next. How is Thanksgiving pagan? What are the eeeeeeeevils of Thanksgiving that good Christians should avoid?

What? Christmas? No we will not skip ahead to Christmas! Thanksgiving is always overshadowed by Christmas. We are going to thoroughly cover Thanksgiving and why it is pagan. There will be plenty of time to discuss tree worship and Satan Santa. We will give Thanksgiving the attention it deserves.

Very simple.
Gluttony. You're gonna pay for that!
