Yes… differences…

It's sold in the shops in shops in South Africa as jelly 😅 not gello or jello or even gelatin.

Never tried tiramisu mousse before but I do generally like most things in particular in the confectionery / desset range. 🙂

I don't know how anyone couldn't like it. I had to stop making it because I couldn't control myself with it lol

The koeksisters look tasty! They look a bit like our twists (not exactly, but kinda). Once in a great while I make homemade glazed donuts. Very tasty.

Quite possibly. I haven't had the widest range of desserts or confectioneries but based on the "pancakes of doom"

I probably would no doubt like it lol.

Traditional Koeksisters – A traditional South African sticky donut treat that’s deliciously sweet, sticky, crunchy and drenched in syrup, laced with cinnamon, lemon and ginger. Absolutely perfect for snack or tea time and even breakfast.

Doss that sound something similar to your twists. Yes glazed donuts are tasty as is cream donuts and my most frequent dessert I buy apple pie slice 😅

So what I was referring from Survivor was particularly the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches which I assume is like peanut butter and jam, for us South Africans?
We have both jelly and jam here - and, they are different. The jelly you speak of in the quote above probably was jelly - which can sometimes jiggle or wobble a little in a way that is similar to 'Jello' (a product name) - just not nearly as much.

Also, jam spreads a lot more easily than jello.

After reading your experience it does seem you are more prone to be an "adrenaline junkie" than say me... I tend to be a more cautious person by nature and wouldn't do something for fun whereby I may potentially injure myself, without first thinking of the consequences. It is just my nature lol.

I guess everyone has different facets to themselves but in this respect I am diametrically opposite you and your spontaneous exploits of fun lol. I would rather make those "doomsday" pancakes / flapjacks you shared previously... :LOL::ROFL:
so, you get ghost pepper extract, and a medical srynge, and you ''inject'' the milk, tomatoes, orange juice, etc.

Our "jelly" is more like your "jam" but instead of mashed fruit it is made with fruit JUICE. It's as spreadable as mashed fruit "jam" or "preserves" but not nearly as tasty. Grape jelly is most common because it's a lot easier to make grape jelly than grape jam.

What you call "jelly" we call "jello," and yeah that would be a bit more difficult to spread on bread. Also much less tasty on bread.

It's the best way to get sweet grape spread on your bread. Grape jam, with whole mashed grapes, is... Problematic.

The cost of jams which used to be cheap in South Africa isn't anymore. I think there is a grape jam but it would be expensive like fig jam.

It's just interesting... how different things are in other western countries...
