I hope you'll soon get adequate rest, and I pray you'll stay safe!
Thank you so much!
I took a class on sleep from Dr Josh Axe, ND earlier.
I Thank God He provides what I need. He gave me that and melatonin, the supplemental sleep hormone today.

It's just been very stressful this summer. It's a season of one of the toughest times for me. I appreciate your prayers.

I feel ya'. The passing of my father has caused this to be the roughest season of my life.

I'm so thankful we have the Lord.

May the days ahead get brighter and may the seasons ahead be less heavy!

Yes, for sure. I would not be here without His mercy. I'm not suicidal at all. I just let everything go to focus on Mom. Now it's even tougher and everything reminds me of her in some way .
Are you eating enough and keeping your health up?

I am. Funny you mention that, I just posted dinner in another thread lol.

GOOD! It seems The Lord was speaking to us both about that in His own way .
Since Mom was put in the hospital, I lost my appetite. Then I went for months feeling guilty about eating, only having enough to function to help her.

Dealing with the stress and sadness of having someone very close to you in the hospital is very trying.
Deep grief is also very trying.
When a person is very close to you, these are painful times like no other. Praying for strength, guidance, and comfort!

I understand this. I also am not suicidal at all...though there were times I'd think to myself, if only I could depart from here and be with the Lord and with dad. But, I know that's not where the Lord wants me to be right now. We are supposed to be here. We need to be here.
To everything there is a season.

Yes, The Lord has important plans for our lives and does want us here right now. May He lift our burdens and help us live in His power and joy.
Your Dad must be so happy you love him so much. That's more important than anything of physical value.

Indeed!
Dad was the closest person to me. I felt his passing as if it was all the pain I've ever felt in my life all put together (including the passing of my mother) and then some. In the thick of it I thought that I shall die of a broken heart.

Loving someone close who is going through something terrible is a great pain to bear. Seeing them in pain, we are in pain. I've been praying for you and will continue to do so.

Thankfully the Lord is with the brokenhearted. Thankfully He is with us in this dark valley we are going through.
And thank you for your words! The warmth is a blessing. "Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones."

I need that encouragement.
Once I woke up, I realized that I got nearly 8 hours straight. I don't remember the last time I slept that long!

The Expendables. I read that Stallone sustained 14 injuries making that film.

Anyway, speaking of Stallone, someone on this thread suggested Oscar (1991) to me a few days back with link to the movie. I did watch it. I'm not sure why the critiques were so negative about it. Admittedly, at first I wasn't sure if I would was going to like it, but I continued watching it. I found that it gets more amusing as the film progresses, it has a good cast, and Stallone's one liners are a hoot.

forgive me I had forgotten how shocking it was in the first 15 minutes. it had been a long time since I've seen it.

It's also probably that I've been going at the action movies a lot lately, so I had to get used to a bit of a change. Once I did, it was a hoot. Stallone's one liners was my favorite thing about the movie. I don't care what the critiques say, it's a clever and comical movie! I'm grateful for the link!

Carrie,
You might also like my man Mr. Godfrey too its from the 1930s. it features William Powell from the Thin Man series. William begged his ex wife to play the part. she apparently was somewhat like the charactor she played in real life.
taming the shrew (1967) I've watched this one many times no1 favourite fiction movie. Elizabeth Taylor and the Richard Burton she married 3 times in real life.

I was impressed by Stallone's acting in Oscar.

I'll have to check these out, especially Mr. Godfrey. I have a fondness for '30 movies. One of my favorite movies of any decade is Freaks (1932). Many people these days skip over the '30s, but there are some gems in that era.

I think we have the same taste I love old movies you never have to worry about your feelings being hurt or them being so violent. Bette Davis movies and William Powell movies are some of my favorites.
