Paul had to tell Timothy to drink a little wine with water to help his stomach problems.
And, Paul tells us that he had to leave behind his good friend Trophimus who was so sick that he almost died.
Greet Priscilla and Aquila and the household of Onesiphorus. Erastus stayed in Corinth,
and I left Trophimus sick in Miletus. Do your best to get here before winter. Eubulus

This has to do with false teachers and prophets not the removal of spiritual gifts. or the ceasing of them.

If it were? Paul should have recommended the same thing for many others.
What happened to Trophimus? You skipped that one.... Paul had to leave him behind sick. Trophimus almost died.
