How is it that Jesus tells believers they can do nothing apart from Him, and yet unbelievers are able to get saved before they are part of Him?
The reason I'm asking is because it would be just as easy for me to share verses of Jesus saying things that you seem to contradict. For instance, John 6:39...all which He hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again on the last day...
Who is all that the Father has given to Christ? Those who are saved? How is it such a one can lose their salvation if Jesus insures it? So what is true of those who associate themselves with Christ, yet fall away? Wouldn't Jesus have to go after them and bring them back if He is to claim He lost none? And yet some fall away and do not return? Did Jesus fail them or were they never given to Him?
“How is it that Jesus tells believers they can do nothing apart from Him, and yet unbelievers are able to get saved before they are part of Him?”
jesus doesn’t tell unbelievers anything because they reject his words in the gospel and never have any faith. They aren’t “ believers “
“I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for
if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.”
John 8:24
those people don’t have an atonement for thier sins they reject the one God made for all people of the world and remain under standards of rhe law of sin and death whether Jew or gentile.
Non believers aren’t under this judgement
“For
if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
but if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
Matthew 6:14-15 KJV
That’s for believer’s if the gospel.
“it would be just as easy for me to share verses of Jesus saying things that you seem to contradict. For instance, John 6:39...all which He hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again on the last day...”
“For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.”
John 6:38-40 KJV
I don’t contradict any of that
there’s nothing in John chapter 6 that changes chapter 8 or makes it a different doctrine
John six
…that every one which seeth the Son, and
believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and
I will raise him up at the last day.”
I believe that 100 percent
“Then said Jesus to those Jews
which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and
ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
John 8:31-32 KJV
I just don’t use that to erase this one or this one
“For
we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”
2 Corinthians 5:10 KJV
I don’t try to reckon why it’s not true I try to learn from it instead I know I have to appear before Christ the lord at jidgement day and give an account of all I’ve done and said I only know it because I believe the gospel
“for
we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, And
every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.”
Romans 14:10-12 KJV
I’m not going to look for a sentance in Ephesians to try to not believe that for instance this which you mention
“And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. “
theres absolutely no contradiction in any other scriptures in the New Testament with that it has a place where it belongs it doesn’t change everything else like the things about repenting and obeying God it’s not meant to change the other things but works with them I do t disagree with any scripture
you rarely use or talk about them tho honestly your usually explaining to me why I shouldn’t accept those things I keep quoting I have no problem with this
“For
by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.
( amen praise Jesus )
For
we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
Ephesians 2:8-10 KJV
Still okay with that also you can’t find a scriptire I won’t accept brother I just won’t erase everything else over one sentance
