You should read the actual IG report. It notes that the UC's (unaccompanied minors) are released to sponsors (family members already in the US) or foster care. Of the 300K who were released since 2019 (so this also includes Trump's term), about 10% are unaccounted for, primarily because they failed to appear at their court hearings. But the main reasons they didn't appear are because they just stayed with the family members they were placed with, they turned 18, or they didn't get their hearing notices.

The main gist of the IG report is that ICE needs to do much better, regardless of which administration is in place at the time.

Second, I have made it very clear that I do not consider myself a "supporter" of Trump. A supporter would donate money. I donate money to a number of causes every month, yet I have never donated money to Trump's campaign. I may vote for him, but I have voted in every presidential election and never considered myself a supporter of any of the previous presidents. We are given a binary choice, we are to "vote wisely" based on the leading we have from God. That doesn't make us a supporter, merely a citizen doing our duty.

I was a teacher in HS, sometimes we took our students on field trips. We were required to return to school with every single student that left with us on the field trip. We were not permitted to give a long list of excuses for why some didn't show up. How could anyone claiming to be a child of God make excuses for this horrific failure? Now if 3 people out of the 300,000 were still not accounted for I could see giving the DOJ a little more time, but 300,000 that is ridiculous.

Then the article is lying, since that's not what the report said. The unaccounted for UCs are the ones who don't show up for their hearings (obviously the ones who do show up are accounted for). The third page clearly states, "ICE reported more than 32,000 UCs failed to appear for their immigration court hearings from FYs 2019 to 2023."

I was a teacher in HS, sometimes we took our students on field trips. We were required to return to school with every single student that left with us on the field trip. Democracy is generally where the will of the majority of the people, will be the will of the nation overall.
