I actually agree with you. McCain was a moderate Republican considering the left and right perspectives collectively.
To the Republican base, their perception was that he was a Rino and more aligned with a Democrat (even though they nominated him). To the Democrat base, he was a right-leaning centrist who is respectable but not really aligned with the Democrat party. McCain mostly knew this so he had to pick a candidate that was more right than he was to obtain more reach of supporters.
The Democrat base is so far left that relative to it, Kamala is viewed more as a centrist (collectively speaking). The far left Democrats are actually unhappy with her... NOT for the same reasons Republicans are unhappy with her, but because she doesn't go far left ENOUGH. For this reason, I think that is why she chose Walz as he is the clearly far left candidate that will appeal to the broader Democrat base.
To Republicans, of course Kamala is a leftist Democrat, but when we look at it relative to her party, she is more centric/to the right of it only because the base ran even further to the left in recent years.
You know people like us, that are political are in the minority. Most people are just trying to pay their bills, Take care of their kids and make it to work on time. The majority of people don’t think about these things, and the only thing that matters to them is how the leader of the country, makes them feel.
Trump has continually proven to be bad for the morale of the country. His negative interactions with the press and negative campaign strategies are wearing thin on the non political Public. Who may have felt like Trump made them feel good in 2016, but did not feel uplifted during his presidency or his current campaign.
And that’s why I’m voting for Harris , because I believe that she will be better for the countries morale. If you listen to her, you may disagree with her, however she is uplifting and positive .
Maybe if Trump loses, and the nationalist element of the republican party, dies out and more sensible Republican leaders step into place then Inand others will care more about the actual issues and consider candidates on both sides of the aisle.
Paris is going to maintain the status quo she’s not going to make any radical changes.
Trump is bull in a China shop and if he gains the support he needs he will have leverage to make some very radical changes.
