Hello.

I hear many Christians say that healing ended with the apostles.

I DISAGREE.

They say things like "but my pastor says..."

Or "They didn't teach that in my church", etc.

It just means that their pastor doesn't believe what he reads.

Truth is, the apostles healed the same way Jesus did...

BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD.

The Spirit now dwells in us, the believers.

That same Spirit works through us now.

I believe it.

I've done it.

I've seen pain go, sprains heal, devils leave, bones mend, peace come, etc. from laying hands on others.

Do I see 100% recovered?

NO.

I'm still learning and building my own faith.

I want to know your thoughts and hear about your experiences if you are doing this yourself.

It's time the believers believed.

If you don't lay hands, or don't believe you are able to heal others today, please post and let me know why.

Let's discuss this.

The only one that can heal is God. You can be of great faith and yet, God may or may not heal you. It is up to Him.

The manifestation of “gifts of healing” along with the other 8 manifestation of the spirit are available to for each and every believer to operate ...whatever the believer wills or desire to operate.

But as tourist stated ...God is the prime mover.

It is important to ask God in every situation (of ministering healing) ...what to do. If you get the green light .....God will tell you what is wrong and what to pray for as you minister healing.

If you don’t get the go ahead (at that particular time) it never hurts ....just to pray for them.

Sometimes the person in need does not believe to be healed .... Sometimes it takes ministering the Word to that person to get them to the point of believing.

Every situation is different ....always ask God.

There are two kinds of Christians, those who get healed as people pray and those who deny divine healing and go through the illness or suffer the injury.

In the first few weeks of my Christian life, I had two chronic conditions healed in one day. I knew nothing about healing. A pastor had a word of knowledge about one condition, prayed for me and I was healed. Later that day, I experienced a bout of something that had troubled me for years. I prayed for myself and was healed instantly.

Healing is complicated. Satan is the source of sickness and disease, not God. There was no sickness in Eden. Sin opened the door to disease of all kinds. I've had to suffer serious illness from time to time and been healed instantly at others.

I am mystified as to why any Christian doubts God's willingness to heal right here and now. Jesus said that healing is the children's bread. Did Christians stop being God's children when the last apostle died? I think not.

Healing is for today because the operation of the Church is the operation of the Church.

For why would it change.

Why would Christianity change for whatever purpose there was back then in dealing with people would be the same things today.

Oh they get healed but not now.

Oh they get a witness but not today.

Jesus said signs and wonders shall follow all who believe.

But the Bible says there would be many hypocrites today so what would they do, and what would they get.

There were healings galore back then but not so much now although television evangelists will try to convince you they are healing.

Although they are victim of the love of money which neglects the poor and needy, and love is the fulfilling of the law.

Which charity, love in action, is greater than faith, and faith works by love.

So what are they going to do, and how will they be healed.

And it appears as if the majority of people claiming Christianity love money, and material things.

1Co 13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
1Co 13:9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
1Co 13:10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
1Co 13:11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
1Co 13:12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
1Co 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

I do not believe this means that these things have ceased but when the saints are in heaven when the perfect has come then those things will not be needed anymore, but charity, love in action will go on forever for it never fails.

That is it says that charity is greater than faith, and hope, for faith, and hope are not needed in heaven but love will go on forever,

The operation of the Church is the operation of the Church so what they did back then would apply today.

I believe that the Lord heals today. I've seen many miracles. However, the TV shows featuring false prophets shame Christianity with their veneer of so called miracles. God isn't in it if the spokesmen spread false gospels.
That makes it easy to recognize for the born again believer in Christ. However, the devils use those for their purposes to deceive the world.

Did the apostles do "special miracles?"
Yes, quite evidently from the testimonies of Mark 16 KJV only and the book of Acts. I would love to see nursing homes and those suffering from physicians of No value in the hospitals empty. God still answers prayer, but there were more healed during their time establishing the churches.

Acts 19
And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:”
So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

This doesn't mean that a believer cannot cast out a devil or pray and the Lord will not. I've seen it happen and nothing I've found in the Bible contradicts it. However most videos I've seen of preachers with deliverance ministries are a joke. I've not heard a clear gospel message from those who focus on that issue. Some say their entire church needs delivered frequently. Some say that everyone become possessed and other fictions.

We aren't Elijah or Elisha parting the rivers. However, we can learn faith from their examples.
We are first and foremost to preach the good news to the poor.
Should we pray as Elijah did?
Oh yeah!
James 5
Pray BIG.

This guy is not a Christian but it shows how false ministry is:

If a service like Benny Hinns can be completely replicated by non-believers, you've got a problem.

True. I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit by laying on of hands, but haven’t witnessed healings at church yet. No one has requested prayer or laying on of hands (or corporate prayer at the front).

Thats easy 1st not every Christian has/ got this gift. 2nd. If they are not 100% healed it is not what was practised through Jesus and the apostles. 3rd. It should be in the Hand of the eldest.

That's right. It reminds me of Benny Hinns nephew. Have you heard any of his interviews? He explained the way his uncle handled services.

I've seen a LOT of phony "faith healers" in hospitals and clinics too. Many are the western version of witch Drs.

And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, 26And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,
Mark 5
Of course we know that the Great Physician healed her. The phony physicians simply lie to her, led her on and stole her money, just like most today. They are the modern high priests who are idolized by the cultures of the Western nations.

Haven't heard from Benny's nephew. A long time ago Peter Popoff got in trouble having a headphone feed from his wife of ailments people had. She interviewed people who would be called on in the service about their ailments and tell Peter Popoff during the service through the headphones.

He got done for this and went out of ministry (falsely called), and then came back with prayer handkerchiefs for people to buy. They fell for it again, despite him being proven false.

Nowadays Benny Hinn and Kenneth Copeland copy his style. Not much difference at all.

But like you say, God can and does heal. Sometimes you eliminate all the other psychological factors and probabilities and it's God healing.

I think this happens out of the spotlight and hoopla

Why would it change and not be applicable today? The gifts, manifistasltions of the Spirit, were needed to grow and edify the esrly church. Not so today which is why they ceased in accordance with 1 Cor 13:8. And, they were manifested in biblical times by the laying on of the apostle's hands, all of whom are long dead.

I want to know your thoughts and hear about your experiences if you are doing this yourself. It's time the believers believed.
Yes. If we are going to believe, let us believe the WHOLE COUNSEL of God.

Perhaps your personal experiences should not necessarily be the criterion. I notice that you have not said a word about what is written in James 5:13-18.

JAMES 5: THE PRAYER OF FAITH OF ELDERS GUARANTEES HEALING
13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
16 Confess your faults [not "sins" as in modern translations ]one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

I would love to see a person with a genuine spiritual gift of healing. But in all the churches I have been associated with. there has never been even one healer. Also, none of those churches exhorted their members to approach the elders for healing , even though it is there plainly in Scripture. What does that tell you? No one believe James, and neither do you.

In my estimation , the gift of healing was a sign gift in the apostolic churches. When the apostles passed on, the sign gifts were withdrawn. You will not find any of the 1st and 2nd century "Fathers" saying they could heal the sick or raise the dead.

The Charismatic movement and Pentecostalism in the early 20th century have certainly made a big thing out of tongues and healing, but a careful examination of the "healings" of (for example) Katherine Kuhlman or Benny Hinn have shown that there really were no healing miracles. Then we have all the bogus "faith healers". "if you did not get healed, it is because you did not have enough faith. Or perhaps you did not contribute enough cash to my ministry".

We should note that no one who ever came to Christ for healing or exorcism was ever turned away, and all were healed -- WITHOUT THE LAYING ON OF HANDS (necessarily). Sometimes, the Lord simply spoke a word, and at other times, people simply touched His clothes. Many did not even expect Him to heal them, but He did anyway.

Then we have the case of Epaphrodites, while Paul was still alive and totally capable of doing a healing miracle. Yet it was fervent prayer for him that enabled him to be healed, not the laying on of hands. And Timothy has to deal with his stomach problems by the use of wine.

Ultimately, God chooses to heal some of His children, and chooses not to heal others for His own reasons. But if every church did what is in James 5, that would be a different matter. God would honor the corporate prayer of faith of genuine elders. But sins (confession to God) and faults (to men) would also need to be addressed.

I don't agree with this guy on his doctrine since I don't know what he teaches. It's just an interview of someone who was on the inside of one of the most famous word of faith ministries..(ie. "Little God's", name it and claim it, swing your jacket over your head and the whole first rows of people fall backwards.)

Thanks for reminding me about Peter Popoff. He reminds me of Robert Tillman.

Mom and I used to watch earnist Angsly for fun on TV. He'd walk up to the camera and say,
"Hold your baby up to the TV screen as a point of contact-UH. " 😆

There are those who say the right words....but have vastly different meanings behind those words.

Like "SERVANT"....
Who exactly is whose servant? Are these faith healers God's servants or does God work for them?

Since the time of signs and wonders is over....what purpose is healing today? Especially since modern medicine is available. (Just expensive)
For the comfort of slaves?
Especially ones that are unproductive and never will be?

God can and does as He wishes....but the miracles HE does these days get nowhere near a stage. Especially when propheteering is happening. "And for $40,000 you too can be healed"
