Do you know any posters like that?
What are some things you don’t need a scripture for?
Here some examples:
- Don’t light a firecracker in your hand.
- Don’t jump into an alligator pit
- Don’t jump out of a plane
- Don’t pet stray dogs
- Don’t feed a raccoon

You would think some people would know this stuff right? Believe it or not, there’s some posters would disagree if these not a scripture for this. I’m pretty sure I found a scripture in the New Testament that basically said “Don’t be a Moron.” At least that’s how it translated :)

In my personal and spiritual life I do need scriptures. If we say we don't need scripture, let's just toss out the Bible and each one go his or her own way. But in here, a lot of people love to debate scripture; I refuse to go down that road. It's improper and a waste of time, in my opinion, to argue theology endlessly. Before long, the debate becomes all-important, not the Lord.

None of these are direct statements about (what you assume is) the nature of God.

When you claim the following:
^^^Funny. God dies not delight in humor although we as humans find stuff funny. Usually God delights in our testing and trials. If we obey God, it’s great, but if you falter or fail, God will begin to send destruction.
Yeah, that really needs some scripture to back it up.

Most of those I think fall under the scripture of don't put the lord your God to the test. But there's also the one about as a dog returns to his vomit so a fool returns to his folly. And I'm sure there's also one about touch no unclean thing.

And does that passage about meeting him in the air cover jumping out of a plane? Do you meet him in the air then or is it after you're back on the ground that you technically meet him?

I dunno... Seems like most people would do a lot of praying on the way down.

I vote for definitely in the air.

Eh, it just shows the base level of some of these Phariseeic wannabe posters.

So you don’t have anything you do during the day or your life that you do without needing a scripture? Opening the car door, petting the dog, going to the bathroom, eating a pop tart, griping at the car in front of you, pulling in to Starbucks to get coffee - whether to get a Grande or a Venti, working on files from two weeks ago, …

All these words and you still haven't given us any words that explain your claims about God.

Those claims definitely need scripture to back them up because they directly contradict what I know the Bible says.

Opening the car door - behold I stand at the door and knock if any man open the door, I will come in

Petting the dog - Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.

Going to the bathroom- remove all defilement from the sanctuary

Eating a pop tart- whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all for the glory of God

Griping at the car in front of you - the last shall be first and the first shall be last

Grande or venti at starbucks - my cup runneth over

Working on old files- in days of old I planned it

I like this game. Ready for round 3

That's breaking the 9th commandment (or 8th if you're Lutheran or Catholic): you shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

My real questions are more like Esv or Nlt, oolong or herbal, terraforming mars or wingspan. And of course troll the troll or ignore the troll.

Pretty sure I gave you the answering Scripture to things such as these on another Thread, but I will post it again.

Matthew 4:7

“Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.”

King James Version (KJV)

This was a tough one for people to figure out for some reason. The thread is things you don’t need a scripture for.
