Is there no humour in the Bible? Really? Humour is playful and creative, and the Creator Himself is of course both creative and I would also say have humour. Some of the parables Jesus told are both creative, playful and have humour. The camel and the needle's eye for one. Yes. The message is profound and serious, but the approach is, I repeat myself here, creative and playful. So. To have humour as Christians wouldn't, in my opinion, be sinful, but an expression of the creativity we got being created in the image of God.
The Bible does have some humor in it. Realize that a lot of it may not translate. Someone beat me to Elijah making fun of the prophets of Baal; it's just as well since they did a better job than I probably would have. There is also the end of John where Jesus has told some of the disciples how they will die violent deaths but notably leaves out John, to which the other disciples say "What about him?" I always find it funny that Jesus basically answered with "what's it to you?"
Also, I have heard that Holy Spirit has a very good sense of humor, and some of my dad's answered prayers were downright hilarious in their fulfillment (but complicated).
I hope this one isn't too dirty or old, but did you hear why Colorado voted in same-sex marriage the same day they legalized marijuana? Because Leviticus 20:13 says that if a man lies with another man, he should be stoned.

I know of a lot in the Bible that disagrees with what you just said, and I don't know of any verses that agree. Can you give me at least a starting point to figure out why you said this? What is your basis?

You make me realize that a lot of the Bible was probably meant to be humorous, but because it is the Bible we tend to think everything is supposed to be read in complete seriousness, as though laughter itself implies a lack of reverence (I'm speaking to myself too here, by the way). This take isn't biblically-sourced from any verse I'm aware of, though. There is no verse "Thou shall not laugh at anything the Lord thy God may say." In fact we are kind of being like the Pharisees in creating our own rules about how one should apply God's word when we presume that laughing at anything in the Bible is automatically off limits.
Also, we are created in God's image. I believe the desire to laugh is part of that.
Not good enough. You're in a Christian forum and you made a blanket statement about God that disagrees with the Bible.
