Back to your pet verse.
Go ahead, and try to earn salvation. No sweat of my back. I am saved, and was baptised by God. I have assurance..
All scripture is given by inspiration of God...for instruction in righteousness, etc. (2 Tim 3:16-17)

As revealed in Acts 10:43-48, the command to be water baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus is required along with being indwelt by the Holy Ghost. This parallels what Jesus stated in John 3:3-5.

Who cares? When you’re on you death bed and all of the sudden you want to get baptized and can’t, then I guess you’ll end up in Hell.
No one should wait until they're on their deathbed to make a decision. God draws people throughout their lifetime. It is not His will that any should perish:

"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9)

Peter revealed that everyone is to repent, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for remission of sin, and receive the Holy Ghost. The promise is available for all those living in the NT until Jesus returns.

Indeed it is faith and belief in the shed righteous blood of Jesus Christ that places us into His His incorruptible body and assures us of life ever after, and not some dipping or dunking or being sprinkled with earthly water that saves us.
People need to accept God's word concerning when sins are remitted in association with the shed blood of Jesus Christ. It reveals something quite different.

There is again the question of who is receiving the Spirit in passages of scripture. If an entire group receives the Spirit. ..is this eternal salvation or a group of already saved people becoming a local church?
Scripture reveals all receive the Spirit individually.

"And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." Acts 2:1-4

So, no “death bed” conversions. And the guy on the cross with Jesus actually went to Hell. Jesus lied I guess.
The thief on the cross died under the OT. The command of water baptism in the name of Jesus for remission of sin was instituted after Jesus' death, burial and resurrection.

Repent is not a behaviour.. a work.. it is a 'change of mind, heart' from unbelief to belief.
So people are willing to accept the first part of Peter's message but not the rest... That's no using wisdom since "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." 2 Tim 3:16-17

Perhaps you have not been paying attention and that is why you have no idea the gentiles receive the holy spirit without being Baptised in water.

You should pay closer attention to the conversation before sticking your foot in your mouth.
What Peter said was proven wrong by God.
Interesting that you believe you know more than Jesus' own apostles. Jesus actually entrusted Peter with the keys to the kingdom and told him to feed his sheep, Jesus repeated this twice. And also told Peter to feed His lambs. Jesus' comment parallels the fact that Peter provided food, in the form of the gospel message, to the Jews, (sheep) Samaritans *half-Jew and half-Gentile" (sheep) and Gentiles. (lambs)

You may want to re-evaluate what scripture actually reveals.

I had a baptism earlier after I got home from.work.I Baptise myself about 6 days a week.
Mocking God is not wise. I am amazed at the lack of reverence toward Godly principles.

Water baptism was instituted for remission of sin via the counsel of God. It was later modified to include invoking the name of Jesus as it is done in accordance with trust in His sacrifice:

Note that John the Baptist's father was told that John would give knowledge of salvation unto people by the remission of sins:

"And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying,
Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,
And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;
As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:
That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;
To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;
The oath which he sware to our father Abraham,
hat he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,
In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.
And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways;
To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,
..." Luke 1:67-77

"And all the people that heard him, (John) and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.
But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him." Luke 7:29-30

Wow, “critical thinking” that’s a very impressive term. Sounds like you’re a really smart guy. That’s good that you’re so intelligent and can think and figure out such abstract and critical thoughts. You even quoted some scripture. It’s amazing how at no point did you say “What about just crying out to Jesus?” Instead you alluded to requiring water baptism and the baptism of the Holy Spirit as requirements for salvation. My prayer example was just that - an example. Simply crying out and asking Jesus to save you is enough. If we go by what you said, then everyone who has cried out to Jesus right before they died went to Hell, since they weren’t water baptized or filled with the Holy Spirit.
Man's wishful thinking can not trump the word of God. The word is the final authority as to what is required concerning salvation.

"He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day." John 12:48

"Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:31-32

Water baptism is in the law of Moses.

Tell me this,do you kill sheep and offer them to God in accordance to the word of God every year or do you feel that practice was a shadow of things to come?

so what about all those people in the OT who are lost because they did not get baptized. The word says the law could not save them.. so how was it possible that they would be saved from the penalty of sin?
Obedience to water baptism in the name of Jesus for remission of sin was not required of those living in the OT. As Jesus prophesied, it was to begin in Jerusalem and continue to spread into all nations. (Luke 24:47)

Water baptism is not in the law of Moses. The OT provides foreshadows of what later became a NT reality after Jesus' death, burial and resurrection. (Mark 1:1-5, Luke 3:3, 24:47, Acts 2:38...)

I expect that most people including Hitler never receives the holy spirit after they are Baptised in water.But they are led to believe they are saved even if they don't receive the spirit because they are told they are saved if they are water. baptised as in the OP.
I am beginning to see this: Get water Baptized and be under Law, not seeing what Paul talks of about upholding law over being under Law.Once God baptizes anyone in God's spirit and Truth of the risen Jesus one is freed and then upholds Law and is not under it any longer. As the Gentiles were never called to be under Law. only by the people of the First Chosen did that begin to happen, explained in Galatians to me

baptism is the beginning of the gospel not the law of Moses

The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God; As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, Which shall prepare thy way before thee. The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, Make his paths straight. John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. And there went out unto him all the land of Judæa, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins. ( this is about repentance and remission of sins not imputation of Moses law )

And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan. And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: and there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:1-5, 9-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”
‭‭John‬ ‭3:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, ( water )

and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”( spirit )
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:38‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. ( spirit ) Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. ( water ) Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭10:44,

This is what Jesus commanded them

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

this is what they did

“Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭8:35-38‬ ‭KJV‬‬

baptism has never changes and it began to be done in Jesus name in the gospel not the law his name wasn’t even know then they were all baptized in a form of baptism in Moses name through crossing the river and Moses entering the cloud and receiving the law

baptism of repentance and remission of sins is a New Testament doctrine a foundational one

Water baptism is not required to receive the holy Ghost .
You should ask so you can receive the holy Ghost then you will know what I'm talking about.
After you recieve the baptism of holy Ghost ,then holy Ghost will teach you the truth.

The word of God is the final authority. Please consider Jesus' words in Luke 24:47. He said that repentance and remission of sin would be preached in His name in all nations BEGINNING in Jerusalem. The message of the need to repent, and receive remission of sin by invoking the name of Jesus in baptism was in fact first preached in Jerusalem on the Day of Pentecost. And afterward that same message was carried, and continues to be presented to individual's of all nations.

According to Jude 3 there is a common salvation that all must pursue:

"Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints." Jude 3

"When Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine..." Acts 2:38-42
Okay, yes, as it has gone forward ever since, people to beleive God in Son for them, between God and them. To get water Baptized today, is a good conscience towards God. Not to get to be a member of Church(s) made by man as a building after AD 70, when not one stone was left upon another as predicted by Jesus to us the people.
I am elated, you believe God in resurrected Son John, Yashua Ha'Masiach Jesus the Christ. I desire for all to be given the new life in God's Spirit and Truth, Rauch Ha'Kodesh The Holy Spirit of God Father and Son as won for us all to beleive and stick to it to grow up into Maturity

Hebrews 5:12-6

King James Version

12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
6 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
3 And this will we do, if God permit.
4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
7 For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:
8 But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.
9 But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.
10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Glad you on the path to know the truth, the truth that sets us free in being forgiven and then grow up in maturity to this done work for us to walk new in inn .love and mercy for all, Thank you

The whole story, to what God reveals, ed in God's Mystery from the beginning Genesis 3:15-16
Jesus is risen and has won for us to be made new in belief to this truth, thank you. If one or anyone wants to add water Baptism, okay, so be it. God seals hide children to see truth over error(s) daily and continue in his mercy and truth form us all
I am seeing deeper, than ever saw, as Peter finally, did when Peter wrote 1 Peter and 2 Peter to us the people

1 Peter 3:15-21

King James Version

15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.
18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
