The Star Spangled Banner story. But also remember the indigenous people who were here before the Europeans... How they were killed for greed and power.
It was normal practice in those days. Indigenous people were entrenched in witchcraft and tribal warfare was commonplace. America was not some kind of utopia.

If it had not been the British, it would have been the Spanish, French, Dutch or Portuguese. Pick your colonial power. One thing is for sure, America would have been colonised. Get over it.

I'd be curious to know who these "indigenous people" were who the native Americans supposedly killed off.

The big difference between the native Americans and the Europeans was that the native Americans didn't pretend to serve a loving God, and His Son, who loves all people. What the Europeans did in the name of God and Christ was nothing short of diabolical.

Judging the past by the standards of today is ridiculous and pointless. All kinds of evil has been done in God's name and still is being done. All kinds of great things were done and are being done in God's name also.

Maybe so, but we're not talking about "all kinds of things," we're talking about what was done to the native Americans. It never ceases to amaze me how people who claim to be so dedicated to Christ want to dodge the issue, or sweep it under the rug. It wasn't an insignificant event; it was an attempted genocide.

William Penn bought his land from the Indians. Others did as well. They claimed to be Christian.
I'm not unaware of atrocities against Indian tribes, but blanket statements cover history poorly. It was generally the US government who treated Indians poorly.

What do you want? No amount of mea culpa is going to change history one iota. Do you not know that God is in control? God judges all things impartially and righteously. We have our own indignant indigenous people here. They wallow in self pity, drink themselves into early graves, the men treat their wives like dirt and no amount of welfare money thrown at them makes a bit of difference. The Aborigines who do succeed, and there are many, get on with life and and avail themselves of what modern society can give them.

My ex wife is part aborigine. Our kids went through high school funded by Aussie tax payers. My son identifies as Aborigine. He has an excellent job. He does not immerse himself in the past and is much better off because of it.

and it's still happening today. THIS is only one reason why we pray. for those who HAVE received Christ on the throne of their heart, and are killed for it.

Here's your friendly reminder that this is an INTERNATIONAL forum, so putting "This Country" in your thread title while meaning the USA is myopic at best, and xenophobic at worst.

Remember that the founder of this site is American. USA!

The Hebrews had to conquer the Canaanites. European countries been at war with other each from the beginning, Germany has been the catalyst for much of the wars in Europe.

The French went bankrupt to help the U.S. gain independence from the British. The U.S. helped free the French from Nazi Germany.

What's my point?

USA! USA! USA!

A lot of people who profess Christ r going to b very shocked when he returns . We must examine ourselves , repent and not glory in violence for any reason at all . Christians r not called to violence , Christ is our example and we must follow him to our upmost ability , not just in word , or even in deed but in heart and spirit . That means love ! Inwardly and outwardly !

Natives were the first ones to settle in the Americas. But they weren't the ones who build the ruin megastructures. Those were from the preflood era. But the natives were fighting among other tribes. And those explorers that came before the Europeans they had to fight with many natives' tribes that some became slaves and other became members of these tribes.
And some of the Canaanites came across and settled here

Umm, Europe goes back a little bit and Germany did not exist until 1871.
