You're equating natural faith with spiritual faith? Okay...let's play that game.
Can the physically dead have natural faith in their doctor? If not, then how would the spiritually dead be able to have any faith in the Great Physician?
I don't trust doctors. If I ever do, I expect it will come over time from providing care that heals.

But thats not what romans 9 is about. it is about the question did God make a mistake chosing Israel as his elect nation.. Actually romans 9 - 11 discusses pauls thinking on this.

Thats not the same as a spiritually dead person who can actually do some good deeds..
Agree, "dead" in scripture often means separated not incapacitated.
