In my opinion?

You said WE HAVE TO GO BE BAPTIZED to be saved and receive the spirit.

Its not my opinion. If I was wrong you would correct me. But you keep doing the opposite
I posted what Jesus said and how they were confirmed by Peter. I personally said nothing. I posted what God and one of His Disciples said.

What is faith? My greek lexicon gives me the definition of trust, not just belief. Belief strikes me as a gnostic concept. You have an experience, i.e., gnosis and your believe. You see something and you do. Trust is superior to belief.

I will accept the definition of faith on a federal reserve note. :)

It may or it may not. If hearing from God produced faith. The pharisees would never have crucified Christ. Because they heard and knew the OT verbatim.
This is false because the Jews were blinded by God and deafened so they could not hear. Read Paul's explanation.

Can you please, quote the text and highlight where it says that hearing is given?
He won't because he uses Paul but rejects the fact that Paul said the JEWS were blinded and deafened so the Gentiles could be saved. Even Jesus tells us in that passage of scripture it was to fulfill a "specific" Prophecy by Isaiah. But He wants to apply it beyond that when there's literally no other examples for his claim. He's just lacking the understanding.

Jesus died on the cross for the whole world, so that all of us could come to repentance.
He is an infinite being who purchased an infinite atonement.
(Jesus) Infinite x infinite (atonement) = infinite amount of people

The Bible says Faith is how we can even believe who Jesus is because we are believing in something we can't see, for now.

1. Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen

Trust can be defined that way too.

Your right.

Someone shows their trustworthiness to you. and you chose to trust that person.

It may or it may not. If hearing from God produced faith. The pharisees would never have crucified Christ. Because they heard and knew the OT verbatim.

No! They were dead in their sins and had no spiritual ears with which to hear (understand)! Please read this passage very carefully. The context is the Pharisees' infamous confrontation with Jesus. I'll pick it up in v.23.

John 8:23-47
23 But he continued, "You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. 24 I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am [the one I claim to be], you will indeed die in your sins."

25 "Who are you?" they asked.

"Just what I have been claiming all along," Jesus replied. 26 "I have much to say in judgment of you. But he who sent me is reliable, and what I have heard from him I tell the world."

27 They did not understand that he was telling them about his Father. 28 So Jesus said, "When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am [the one I claim to be] and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me. 29 The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him." 30 Even as he spoke, many put their faith in him.

31 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

33 They answered him, "We are Abraham's descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?"

34 Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. 35 Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. 37 I know you are Abraham's descendants. Yet you are ready to kill me, because you have no room for my word. 38 I am telling you what I have seen in the Father's presence, and you do what you have heard from your father."

39 "Abraham is our father," they answered.

"If you were Abraham's children," said Jesus, "then you would do the things Abraham did. 40 As it is, you are determined to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. Abraham did not do such things. 41 You are doing the things your own father does."

"We are not illegitimate children," they protested. "The only Father we have is God himself."

42 Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and now am here. I have not come on my own; but he sent me. 43 Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are UNABLE to hear what I say. 44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45 Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! 46 Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don't you believe me? 47 He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God."
NIV

These Pharisees were very obviously self-deceived and Jesus exposes their deceitfulness. It's no wonder he told them that the devil is their real father! These Pharisees were of the serpent's seed (Gen 3:1`5)! The reason the Pharisees could not and would not hear is because they were not of the Woman's godly seed (Gen 3:15). As such, they did not belong to God! They were not his children because He never elected them to be such in eternity.

Trust can be defined that way too.
But Faith to Believe comes by "hearing the Gospel preached."

17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

13-14 “In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.

But one needs ears to hear the gospel. How can the dead hear?

When someone uses more emphatic language and smh, their emotional state has been raised
When did you decide everyone must fit into your interpretations?

You also seem to frame my remarks in the most contrary of ways rather than ask me to clarify.
If you think so, am I also somehow preventing you from clarifying? Most people here are quick to clarify if they think they have been misunderstood. I certainly do. Who is stopping you?

since we inherit this estate from Adam, I believe we aren't good and that this is the basis for Paul saying none are good, and further, why Jesus said only God is good.
That is what scripture actually has revealed. So?

Are you heading towards total depravity here? Feel free to answer

Quelle surprise  Frankly I don't appreciate a hidden agenda with the added sniping you seem to be capable of.

See, I believe in being straightforward and have the habit of expecting a return on that. I cannot control, nor do I want to control, others.

You? I'm not so sure. Not all good I'm sorry to say
