Thank you for proving that you do not yet know the thrice Holy God of Holy Scripture who loves justice so much that He killed every man, woman, child and animal in the flood except those He had chosen to save in the ark and showed His holy hatred for evil even more so by killing His own Son at the hands of evil men to save all of His people He loves by paying the price they could never pay and satisfying that which an eternity in Hell could never do.

Hell is only a temporary place waiting to be thrown into the Lake of Fire (Rev 20:14) which Christ warned of often and spoke of more than Heaven in order to warn His people who are written in His Book of Life.

Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Then God holds people to a higher standard of having to love our enemies and requires more of us than what God Himself does, that makes no sense in my book nor from a scriptural point of view.

God is Love, Life and Light those are His nouns, God acts to protect people from themselves and to bring forth His plan and not out of hate, that is ridiculous.

"Merit" and love are not connected, so all this argument is silly to me.

Love based on merit is not love, that would be admiration or something of that nature.

Why do you view God in such negative light and why do you view humans so negatively?

Look at how you couch things.

Did it ever occur to you God is long suffering and forgiving it is not about what we deserve/are owed it is about what He wants to give.

Of course God is longsuffering and gracious in every way. God is incalculably good. And I don't believe I have characterized God in any way that He hasn't characterized Himself. And I find it easy to worship God in all of His excellencies. I also don't ascribe any negative connotation to any of them, though by the intonation of some posts I receive suggest I do.
As for mankind, the Bible itself speaks very truthfully concerning the condition of fallen man. But here again, simply because someone understands the condition of man doesn't mean one has a disdain for them. Anyone with even a modicum of compassion spends a notable time in prayer for others and does what they can to break the yokes of bondage of others.

No one "deserves" God's love. That is quite evident. Grace is UNDESERVED love and mercy. Not sure what you mean by "clothe you" but the imputed righteousness of Christ is also undeserved, unearned, and unmerited.

When you where dead in your trespasses God still loved you.

God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses.

So what was deserving of God's love when you where dead in your trespasses.

You can pretend you are worthy and deserving if you like. Scripture says only One is.

I think you are missing his point Magenta. You are not worthy in your fallen state but to call yourself unworthy once you are in Christ is an insult to God because he has made you worthy through the virtue of His Son. You are now to identify with the Son, we have been made one with Him. When you don't see the Son in yourself, you are not pleasing God, it is a false humility.

I spent the first half of my life being made to feel guilty whether I was or not. I know how difficult it can be to come out of that mindset of constant condemnation but the Lord is patient and kind and will lead you into His contentment if you learn His word and apply it. Do not hang your head but lift it up and see the great salvation we have in the Lord.
