I believe there are a lot of people who are expecting things to take place that doesn't.Some might believe they will be taken away before the man of sin is revealed.Others believe there will be a one world government.All looking for things that are not going to happen.They won't even realize it's the time of the end.
Mathew 24:48-51
But suppose that servant is wicked and says in his heart, ‘My master will be away a long time.’
And he begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards.
the master of that servant will come in a day in which he does not expect, and in an hour which he is unaware
Then he will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
He will be assigned a place with the hypocrites.Something tells me he wasnt a Hypocrite but he sure ends up with them in the end.Why would you suppose he didn't know it was the time of the end?

Besides, after the rapture people will be getting born again and will go thru the great tribulation
We do know the rapture will not happen until after the anti-christ is made known to the world according to 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3

Most people dont pay any attention to daniels prophecy concerning the man of sin or his predecessors because they have been misled into believing the prophecy was fulfilled thousands of years ago.

You are confused as the rapture and the second return of Jesus is two separate events.
2 Thessalonians 2:1-3
Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto Him,
That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition
Now if you look closely at Daniel 12:1,you will see that Jesus referenced daniel 12:1 while speaking of the abomination spoken of by Daniel .Jesus is informing us that the abomination of desolation is placed at this time.
