They were referring to the mosaic law not the commandments. The commandments are a set written byGod himself not by man, they are permanent.Acts 15:6-11, "The apostles and the elders met together to consider this matter. After there had been much debate, Peter stood up and said to them, “My brothers, you know that in the early days God made a choice among you, that I should be the one through whom the gentiles would hear the message of the good news and become believers. And God, who knows the human heart, testified to them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as he did to us, and in cleansing their hearts by faith he has made no distinction between them and us. Now, therefore, why are you putting God to the test by placing on the neck of the disciples a yoke that neither our ancestors nor we have been able to bear? On the contrary, we believe that we will be saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they will.”
Clearly, Gentiles are not required to keep the OT law. There were a few rules to follow, but that is entirely different than keeping all the law.
Permancy isn't the issue. Jurisdiction is.They were referring to the mosaic law not the commandments. The commandments are a set written byGod himself not by man, they are permanent.

i postes something on this that eplains the differences based on scripture please see post below; The ten commandments are part of the OT Law. Jesus died to institute a new covenant that replaces the OT law (all of it).

Nope. God has jurisdiction in all things by virtue of creation. Jesus has all jurisdiction by virtue of the new creation.Do you mean GOD's juridiction, the creator of all things, Yeshua's jurisdiction as the Son of GOD to whom ""All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth"" ( mat 28:18) OR according to paul's juridiction, which is what? Who do you believe?
I and many more explained all that to you in many posts already...Nope. God has jurisdiction in all things by virtue of creation. Jesus has all jurisdiction by virtue of the new creation.
The reason that the law has no jurisdiction is because dead people aren't subject to the law. I've never seen a ticket given or a warrant served in a cemetery.
Who is the new covenant and the old covenant between?
What are the stipulations in both covenants?
How does someone become part of each covenant?
How are each covenant fulfilled?
I don't know what you mean by Paul's jurisdiction.I and many more explained all that to you in many posts already...
Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
BTW you forgot to explain Paul's jurisdiction...
Peace
How does God makes all of these laws disappear? The ten commandments are part of the OT Law. Jesus died to institute a new covenant that replaces the OT law (all of it).
How does God makes all of these laws disappear?
How are the 10 commandments faulty?
Heb 8:8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
The old covenant was faulty, the law that God gave was perfect. Many of the laws in the OT are in the NT. Theyhave not been replaced. Lev 19:18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.
Eph 6:2 Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise![]()
who is part if this cult here?Beware of the SDA cult!
These people think one cannot be saved unless they go to church on Saturday
And, they believe those attending church on Sunday have taken the mark of the beast
They also teach annihilationism and other heresies
who is part if this cult here?
i understand and agree, thanks for the warning.I dunno about here on this board. It was just a warning.
I know over at Christianity Board.com they have a lot of people that are part of the SDA cult and they will straight up tell you that those who disagree with them are not saved.
These are very nutty people!
That just can't be right...In the same way, my brothers and sisters, you have died to the law through the body of Christ, so that you may belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead in order that we may bear fruit for God. For while we were living in the flesh, our sinful passions, aroused by the law, were at work in our members to bear fruit for death. But now we are discharged from the law, dead to that which held us captive, so that we are enslaved in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the written code."
Do you understand the difference???
Heb 8:10You're either under the OT covenant (the law) or you're under the NT covenant (born of the Spirit).
Heb 8:10
For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
The laws are in the new covenant..
Mat 5:17-18
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
What bible verse states that the 10 commandment law was removed?
