Being baptized in water and being baptized in the Spirit are two entirely different things. They are not one baptism, they are two baptisms.
Nobody received the Holy Spirit when John baptized them in the Jordan River.
“Nobody received the Holy Spirit when John baptized them in the Jordan River.”
well only the
child of God did
“Now when
all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that
Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, and the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him,
and
a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.”
Luke 3:21-22 KJV
Then he went here so we can also be
baptized into his body and receive his spirit
“This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
( what are they told to do when they ask ?)
Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren,
what shall we do?
Then
Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, ( that’s what John was doing )
and
ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
Acts 2:32-33, 37-38 KJV
That’s what Jesus promised them when he was with them there’s absolutely no doctrine to support any other baptisms but wha actually written down about it the rest is just speculation because we don’t accept it for what it is
jesus got baptized and receives the Holy Ghost as an example to his followers and what was going to happen after he died and rose and ascended and sent his spirit like Peter filled with the holt ghost is explaining To us in chapter 2
We’re they still baptizing in water though ? Yeah of course that’s what God established when he sent John the Baptist to establish baptism for repentance and remission of sins on earth
“Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and
preached unto him Jesus.
And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said,
See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said,
If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and
they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.”
Acts 8:35-39 KJV
That’s baptism God sent his baptizer to establish it , jesus and all of his diciples partook of it before and after the cross
These are just factual statements from scripture how many baptisms are there actually apostle Paul ?
“
There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; one Lord,
one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”
Ephesians 4:4-6 KJV
I assure you Jesus and all of his diciples weren’t practicing and partaking of the “ wrong baptism “ they weren’t commanding “ the wrong baptism “ it’s o my that some refuse to hear it and accept it because they believe we don’t have to actually do anything to be saved …..
What of o receive the Holy Ghost ? Am I already baptized for remission on Jesus name ? What if I’m gentile apostle Peter ?
“While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then
answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? A
And
he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.”
Acts 10:44-48 KJV
there isn’t two baptisms and the baptism Jesus and his apostles partook of is well explained and shown for what it is but sometimes man doesn’t want to hear it that’s always been a thing and then we create our own versions that’s also always been a thing
In the end everything Jesus laid out Will work and be honored by God and everything he didn’t will be burned up and exposed
