The commandments reveal your sin. It doesn't cover them, in any way.

First its not my law to tell others they should or should not obey it, I leave that to their GOD they alone answer to :) Its almost like how we think we must tell others there is a GOD "For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. "

Its ways, laws are written on our heart. If I had never seen a bible I would know His law its in me.

Cor "And you show that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts."

Heb "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people."

Jer "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the LORD: I will put my law within them, and I will write it ton their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people."

What you wrote is about the law of Moses that can no Longer be followed, the 10 commandments written by the hand of GOD on permanent STONE still in the ark of the covenant still stand today. God said it, Jesus said it, the prophets upheld and revered the commandments what about the psalms about the commandments? it is all over the bible. this is all explained in the O.P. and scripture to back it up, here is one more;

Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. ( jesus speaks here of the Law of Moses that he fulfilled, refereed to as "the law and the prophets" )
Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. ( jesus speaks here of the 10 Commandments )

it is abundantly clear!
It is abundantly clear that you know nothing about the New Covenant that renders the old obsolete. If you bothered to read the rest of the New Testament, you would know the place and purpose of the 10 commandments. The Law of sin and death has been replaced by the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus.

The Law is impersonal, unyielding, has no mercy or grace. I don't know how you have a relationship with a stone. I died to the Law, so it no longer has jurisdiction over me. (Galatians 2:19). Who takes a dead man to court, even if they are known to be guilty?
Obeying God's commandments in New Covenant is far more than just the 10. Jesus made that clear in the Sermon on the Mount. Christianity is being led by a Person, not a set of rules.

Read Hebrews and Galatians. That should set you straight.

Sin = pain and suffering and death.
Jesus came to free us from sin.

To be free in Jesus is to be free from sin. He forgives our past transgressions, but not so that we can continue in sin.
Free from guilt, free from the sin = free from guilt.

Sin is the transgression of the Law.

To be free in Jesus is to obey the law.
Satan teaches that we need or can be free from the law and that gives us freedom.

Jesus does not save us in sin He saves us from sin. If we can't stop sinning we are a slave.

The battle between the flesh and the Spirit is constant but Jesus can Give us the victory if we trust in Him.

The law of liberty is the 10 commandments, if everyone perfectly obeyed this law there would be no guilt pain or death. In Heaven we will have freedom from sin because we obey the law.

The law is there to help us see what is right and wrong.
If Jesus gave us laws in the new Testament how are they more personal, more merciful and not take us to court.
What I'm trying to say.... do the laws that Jesus gave convict you of sin and hold you guilty?
The 10 do this and are directly from God in heaven. The mercy is possible because Jesus died for our sins.

The 10 are under the mercy seat in the ark .
Jesus did not remove the 10 commandments but came to forgive us for our past sins and empower to not sin anymore. Both are by faith.

What is this law of the Spirit of life in Jesus. And where does the bible say this?

Are there laws today that hold you guilty of sin? Is this world lawless, did Jesus make sin acceptable? Why do I feel guilty when I sin?
No law = no sin.

I dont deny that the law condemns us and holds us guilty. But if Jesus removed or changed the law then God is not sovereign or Just.
Jesus died because the law could not be removed. Justice and mercy meet at the cross.

Yes, the Ten Commandments are under His mercy seat where justice and mercy come together and what all will be judged by James 2:10-12 Ecc 12:13-14 Mat 5:18-30. I would not want to remove one jot or tittle from the law from under His mercy seat.

True, but misleading. God does not remove the Law. He removes the sinner. That is the work of the cross.

Do you not read all the New Testament? It could not be clearer. If I am speeding but die in an accident, even if it was my fault, no one will take me to court. God's judgement on the sinner is death. We are born dead in trespass and sin. The wages of sin is death. We come into this life by being born and we leave by dying. Spiritually, God includes those who believe in the death of Christ. So we die to sin, self, Satan, the world and also to God's law. (Galatians 2:19).

I don't know why people are so intent on doing what the New Testament forbids. The Law is the shadow, as I've said many times on this forum. Come into the light, walk in the light and you will know the freedom that Jesus came to give us.

Tau, Vav, Resh, Heh - That is what is written on the heart, and if we look at the message contained in each letter, we see the cross, the tent peg, the head, and the breath, and so this is what is in our hearts, our head, and our breath. The Grace of God in Christ which we can see in all of scripture. That is, unless the veil remains. Interestingly, 'garden' can be spelled in either masculine or feminine form, the masculine is spelled 'gimmel' and the final form of 'nun,' and the feminine spelled "gimmel-nun-tau-alef." Gimmel is a picture of a man walking, toward nun, the picture of a son, and the feminine form is a picture of a man walking toward, a picture of the son, a picture of the cross, and alef is a picture of an ox which symbolizes a leader and more commonly 'God.' I'm written this in an attempt to demonstrate the difference between the letter and the spirit. Where we read "love the Lord thy God with all your heart and all your strength and...etc.," the spirit see all that in 'torah' and, even better than that, now, our walk with God in our garden is restored again in Christ so that if that we should encounter a stone in our heart and think to say something like, "what a fool...I should kill him (or something similar)," God is there re'minding' us, "I love you too, fool (or something like that but a lot wiser and with much more love."

This is best illustration I can come up with atm to show walking in the Spirit's precedence over keeping notes on tablets (which doesn' work out well in curbing our propensity to do foolish things, and so is obsolete having been replaced by something much more affective that can't be improved upon).

Yes and and I will add Mat 7;

21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

We should delight to do His will Psa 40:8 having His law in our heart Heb 8:10 right where sin starts. Jesus wants us changed from the inside out Mat 5:18-30 and through Him we can gain victory over sin and keep His commandments. John 14:15-18 Free from the bondage of sin- having peace like a river Isa 48:18

Ironic since the law was added because of transgressions. He literally changed direction and added the 10 Commandments and the Law because of transgressions.

God is certainly unchanging but what is revealed in time and space is changing all the time.
the law of Moses was added because of transgression not the commandments
That actually works too: "But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ."
aaron;

you cherry picked a verse to mock what i wrote again and again you do this, look at the full context of what you quoted;

The Greater Glory of the New Covenant
7Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, transitory though it was, 8will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious? 9If the ministry that brought condemnation was glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness! 10For what was glorious has no glory now in comparison with the surpassing glory. 11And if what was transitory came with glory, how much greater is the glory of that which lasts!

12Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold. 13We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to prevent the Israelites from seeing the end of what was passing away. 14But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. 15Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. 16But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate a the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

Paul explains what the new covenant will be like. not at all the meaning you intended for the verse used to mock me. I will explain what I know from scripture about the New Covenat an upcoming post next week stay tuned and we can discuss.

GOD gave us the commandments they are in the ark of the covenant and will be seen again in heaven;
Rev 11:19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

The Commandments are permanent and will not be nullified in any way.

I do not mind having a discussion but please keep it respectful and I will do the same this way we can have a meaningful discussion.

Of course God is unchanging. However He gave the 7th day Sabbath specifically to Israel, but there is no such command to the Church. Instead Christ said that He is Lord of the Sabbath, which also means that He has the right and the authority to change THE DAY of the week -- not the purpose of the Sabbath.

Now if you wish to see how Christ established the first day of the week, kindly go to John 20 and read about Jesus coming to meet Thomas on the eighth day after His resurrection, not the next day. Why did Christ wait until the following eighth day? Because He knew that Thomas would worship Him on that day. Also the day of Pentecost would be on the first day of the week.

And the apostolic churches made it a practice to worship on the first day of the week. And we sailed away from Philippi after the days of unleavened bread, and came unto them to Troas in five days; where we abode seven days. And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight. (Acts 20:6,7) Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. (1 Cor 16:2) Thus this became "the Lord's Day" (in honor of His resurrection): I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, (Rev 1:10). John called that day "the Lord's Day" by divine inspiration. Had it been the Sabbath, he would have said so.
Nehemiah, I could not complete my research on the topic this week as there is quite a lot of writings to read on the topic of Sunday worship but will answer sometime next week.

Peace be with you.

What will you do on the day of judgment will you say you were not aware you have to follow the commandments given by GOD?

I Never Knew You

I never knew you has reference to John 17:3. These people were never partakers of eternal life. They placed their confidence in the things they had done and not in the Lord Himself. They were relating to God based on their actions and not His.
Unfortunately, this is true of many today. Many still find security in their own performance rather than truly entering into an intimate and vital relationship with Jesus. By works of the law shall no flesh ever be justified. This doesn't mean we aren't to obey, but that obedience is a poor measure of salvation. A far better measure is fruit because one cannot produce it. Fruit is completely the purview of the Holy Spirit. Where it truly exists, God is at work.

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:31-32‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭3:19-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead. For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death. For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me. Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful. For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭7:7-14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

thats bondage not liberty liberty means freedom the gospel sets people free the law cannot and doesn’t

The idea brother is if you teach people how to properly love and treat other people the right way , you don’t have to teach them not to kill each other and lie to each other and steal from one another

“ Don’t kill “ “ don’t lie “ “ dont steal “ don’t commit adultery “ that’s what you tell bound sinners who have no Holy Spirit or remission of sin it’s what you tell these folks

“knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers ( thou shalt not kill ) of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, for whoremongers, ( shalt not covet commit adultery ) for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, ( do not lie ) for perjured persons, ( do not bear false witness ) and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭1:9-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

the law isn’t made for a born again person the gospel is the law of liberty not the law of Moses it’s bondage

Thou shalt not kill shouldn’t be what we need to hear the things Jesus taught will set us free and give us life though

“For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:22, 24-25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If we follow Jesus we won’t lie cheat and steal and kill and worship false gods ect he teaches us the right things to do not the wrong things not to do like Paul’s explaining didn’t work becaue of the sin within mans mind and heart

“Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.

But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence.”

Because man is sinful inside the law that’s telling us good “ not killing is good “ but because we aren’t good it provokes us at some point covetousness lust deception deceit violence idols ect

the law is good we aren’t and it doesn’t compensate for that we have to let go of the old doctrine and embrace the new

“For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.

But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held;

that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭7:5-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We need the law of the spirit of life not the ministration of death if one follows Jesus words they do t even need to hear about not killing and worshipping other gods ect ….
