Your all clearly in error here
@CS1 @GRACE_ambassador @Genez @Bob-Carabbio @ResidentAlien
Look I'll show you
Acts 2.38
38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 10:47-48
47 “Surely no one can stand in the way of
their being baptized with water. They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have.” 48 So he ordered that they be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked Peter to stay with them for a few days.
Acts 10:47-48 clearly suggests all disputes had been settled, and that it didn't matter if you said I baptise you in the name of the the son the father and the holy spirit. Or if I baptise you in Jesus name only.
Because why
Because saved people already had the authority,
Both passages are the same baptism. requiring water, for remission of sins, and acts 10:47 is the final settlement, for the rest of the new testament and today, on how people should be baptised today.
You don't even need the authority if your saved. And you don't need to say anything really.
So Peter was not ignoring the commandment of Jesus to baptise people in the name of the son the father and the holy spirit.
Acts 10:47 is the final settlement of how to baptise for today.
It's not right that
@Genez and
@ResidentAlien should say any baptism only done in Jesus name only is not legit, because believer are already saved and don't need the authority, to say I baptise you in name of the son the father and the Holy Guost.
And besides this, you only ask for authority if you dont have it,
So just say I baptise in Jesus name is sufficient. 😊
