The book of Jeremiah is so very much appropriate. So many falsy prophesying what ear want to ear. And will not listen to the coming Fall of what very well may be America. Repentance is the only hope for America.
I've shared on forums for years that Americans trust way too much on their system of law. Christians always appeal to the courts, since the "Monkey" trial of the 50s, for abortion laws etc.

Now we see how the Justice dept. has become an enemy.

The only recourse left to the church is prayer ... that should have been the first and only recourse.

... should not a people consult their God?

I'm calling on Jesus and going down fighting If My people, who are called by My name, would humble themselves and turn from their wicked ways. Then I would hear from Heaven, forgive their sins, and heal their Land. If America falls all fall, I'm going out fighting.
It's true, if America goes down we all go down.

I disagree. God brought the nation together, made a covenant with them as a nation, distinguished His dealings with them and the other nations. He called them His people. He even made a point to say to who else was such a relationship given. And in the end, He punished them as a nation.
Spiritual Israel was always in view. They too are a called out people in special and peculiar relationship to God. But they will each give an account of themselves before the Lord alone.
I believe God has already turned back to Israel

... they have not yet turned back to Him

OT promises all have found their fruition in Christ. The old covenant no longer exists. Only the new. And the new covenant deals with people on an individual basis, and not as nations. So wouldn't God have to alter the new covenant or provide a new new covenant to deal with Israel as a nation again? Otherwise, there would be a difference between Jew and Greek.
God deals with the Gentiles individually but He has always dealt with Israel as a nation. They fell as a nation, they will rise again as a nation.

Same promise which was given to Abraham which is to come.

18 On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, “To your descendants I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphra′tes, 19 the land of the Ken′ites, the Ken′izzites, the Kad′monites, 20 the Hittites, the Per′izzites, the Reph′aim, 21 the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Gir′gashites and the Jeb′usites.” Gen 15
Sure He has.

When we read "descendants" we should insert "Seed" as Paul taught us. And seed is singular, it means "Christ".

There are people of promise in Christ in those lands today. If not now then in the millennium they will rule those lands and all the lands in the earth.

we did not use seeds because God did not use the term seeds. God said, Descendants.

well he will promise peace and prosperity for all.
He has already said he is the only one who can keep Israel safe. Its stunning to hear a man say something like that without giving God a second thought but he did and hardly anyone even blinked an eye.

God did not deal with Peter the same as he did with Caiaphas.Peter received the spirit of God and became a member of Christ and heir to the promises.Caiaphas received nothing and will receive no inheritance.
Caiaphas is not of the seed which is Christ.

Yes that is nice to see the word game played; however, the context of Gen. where descendants is used is not seeds. Its people.

Oh cool. This should clear it up for you then...

Paul wrote to the Galatians:

"Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “And to your Seed,” who is Christ."

This is a direct quote from the Old Testament from several places...

Genesis 12:7 "“To your descendants I will give this land.”
Genesis 15:18 "“To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates..."
Genesis 24:7 "‘To your descendants I give this land"...
Genesis 26:4 “And I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven..."
Genesis 35:12 “The land which I gave Abraham and Isaac I give to you; and to your descendants after you I give this land.”

I could go on.

Literally EVERY time "descendants" is written it is the Hebrew word zera. That is the Hebrew word for "seed" or "seeds". This is not strange even in English. We may have a bag of seed OR we may have a bag of seeds. Both are correct. So we need some clarification.

Paul, by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, instructed us to read "descendants" as "Seed"; singular meaning Christ.

“And to your Seed, who is Christ.

The natural Jews are not the people of promise. Only those in Christ are of the Seed of Christ. They will inherit the promises.

Hebrew or Greek its people seed is in context to The Genealogy of Christ seen in Matthew and Luke's Gospel

One from Adam the other from David
According to both Paul and Christ,Christ is the heir.
The people in the land who are not in Christ are not heirs. They are husbandmen.Only them that are in Christ are heirs. Its almost time the husbandmen will kill the heirs though.
