Please define "secular work".
Anything that is not this

Isa 58:13 “If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, From doing your pleasure on My holy day, And call the Sabbath a delight, The holy day of the LORD honorable, And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways, Nor finding your own pleasure, Nor speaking your own words,

Hmmm... Genesis, Corinthians, Deuteronomy, but no Exodus. Fail.

Yes Gen., Corin. and Deut., they all show it was established even before Exodus.
Exodus is when God wrote and gave the Ten Commandments to Moses. Answer me this, was Moses keeping any Laws observances, sacrifices, moral laws, did he pray, did he keep the Sabbath or Sunday before He received the written commandments of God? The Commandments of God existed before Moses ever received them, if not what Laws did, they live by? The Mosaic Laws mentioned hence.
The Law of Mosses had to do with the Laws coming from the first 5 books of the Hebrew Bible called the Torah.
from the 2nd through the 5th books of the Torah there are 600+ commandments and regulations "the law of Moses" this is on top of the Ten Commandments given by God. We still obey the Ten commandments because they are all moral laws, but we are no longer under all the commandments and regulations that they had to observe before Christ became our sacrificial lamb. So, it did away with the old Mosaic Laws and kept Gods Laws in affect.
Yes Gen., Corin. and Deut., they all show it was established even before Exodus.

Blessings, Danny

Genesis only says that God blessed the seventh day. It says nothing whatsoever about the ten commandments. Deuteronomy comes about 40 years after Exodus, so that would be an anachronistic argument.

Scripture doesn't tell us what Moses' practices were prior to Sinai, and speculation has no evidentiary value.

You're making a circumstantial argument rather than a fact-based argument. I'm beginning to think you're flailing because you realize your position is bereft of relevant biblical support.

Still is today James 2:10-12

I believe Jesus has more power to keep us from sin, than the devil has to keep us in sin. Our salvation is from sin Mat 1:21. Jesus doesn't make us obey on our own, but it requires our cooperation John 14:15-18
no,

Our salvation is from the penalty of sin.

Otherwise we are still under law..

Grace then becomes meaningless

Being save by grace doesn't give you a license to sin.
I never said it did.

What's your issue?
I have no issue. I am just against legalism and people who try to push law, which can never make anyone righteous.
Even our best efforts are as filthy rags. If you know you have sinned yes repent. But all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
You do your very best and say your prayers, worship and honor God and by grace are your sins forgiven and you are saved.
The Commandments of God should be in your heart and mind as He has said there, He has written them.
I am by no means perfect; I make mistakes like everyone else. But I do my very best to serve God the best I know how. I do not ask anyone to believe in what I believe in, and I do not judge them in their believes.
We are told to Love everyone, and I do my best to be a good and faithful Christian and follow scripture as I see it.

Blessings, Danny

I have stated what I believe in over and over, and I'm not trying to push anything onto anyone, just stating what I believe in, and people can make up their own minds.

no,

Our salvation is from the penalty of breaking the law, which is sin and carries a death sentence. 1 John 3:3 Romans 7:7 Romans 6:23

We are no longer under the penalty of the law (death) if one is keeping God's law. It's like speeding, if we are not speeding, we are not under the penalty of the law if one is keeping. God's law is no different. If we do slip and fall, Jesus who took the penalty for our sins, we can go to Him to confess and repent and when He heals He said - Go and sin no more.

Grace is not a license to sin (Break God's law) Paul makes this abundantly clear

Q. Romans 6 :1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?

A. 2 Certainly not!

Don't worry Magenta. I had "calling people pharisees" on my Bingo card.
I find it somewhat peculiar that these people who come here pushing the law are often so quick to break it, themselves...

Hey, Soyeong...
To my understanding:
The law of the Spirit of life has made me free from the law of sin and death.
The first testament is the law of sin and death because transgression of the commandments bring the curse of death. The first testament is superseded by the New Testament because no one from the tribe of Judah can be a High Priest under the OT law. Sin and the curse of death is now removed by faith in the blood of Jesus unto salvation.
Hello,

In Romans 7:25-8:2, Paul contrasted the Law of God with the law of sin and contrasted the Law of the Spirit of Life with the law of sin and death, so he equated the Law of God with the Law of the Spirit of Life and the Law of God is not the law of sin and death. After all the Spirit is God, so it wouldn’t make sense to interpret that as saying that the Law of the Spirit has made us free from the Law of God as if a house divided against itself could stand, especially when Romans 8:4-7 contrasts those who walk in the Spirit with those who have minds set on the flesh who are enemies of God who refuse to submit to the Law of God. In Romans 7, Paul did not describe the law of sin and death as a law where transgressing it brings death, but he described it as a law that was working within his members to cause him not to do the good of obeying the Law of God that he wanted to do. According to Deuteronomy 28, relying on the Law of God is the way to be blessed while not relying on it is the way to be cursed, so being set free from the curse of the law is being set free from not relying on it so that we can be free to enjoy the blessing of relying on it.

This doesn't mean an end of the commandments of God, but like the office of the High Priest, they've been changed. No longer does the Lord's commandments deal with just our outward acts, but now they are being applied by Spirit illuminated scriptures to deal with our inward motive too. This can be seen in NT scripture: thou shall not murder is changed to if you hate your brother, you are a murderer. Thou shalt not commit adultery is changed to if you lust after another, you've committed adultery in your heart. No more is it eye for a eye, tooth for a tooth, and life for a life, but rather we're to turn our check 70 times 7 times. We who are indwelt by the Spirit are being taught a higher standard than that contained in the law as revealed by Jesus our eternal High Priest's example
All of God’s righteous laws are eternal (Psalms 119:160), so none of them will ever change. In Deuteronomy 4:2, it is a sin to add to or subtract from God’s law, so Jesus did not do that. In Exodus 20:6, God wanted His children to love Him and obey His commandments, and in Isaiah 29:13, God disdained it when His children honor Him with their lips while their hearts were far from Him, so God’s commandments have never been just about our outward acts. We are commanded not to hate our brother in Leviticus 19:17, so that wasn’t a change. Likewise, if we correctly understand what is being commanded against by the 7th and 10th Commandments against adultery and coveting in our hearts, then we won’t look at a married woman with lust in our hearts. An eye for an eye is still a good guideline for judges to help ensure fair sentencing that does not escalate out of proportion to the offense, but it was a guideline that was only intended to be used by judges and was not intended to be used in personal situations to justify taking revenge into our own hands, rather in personal situations we are instructed not to repay in kind (Proverbs 20:22, 24:29). Escalating forgiveness from 7 to 77 times is what it takes to counter Lamech’s escalating revenge of 7 to 77. Everything that Jesus taught was thoroughly rooted in the OT, after all it is God’s word and he is God’s word made flesh. The Spirit does not have the role of leading us to a higher standard than God’s word, but rather the Spirit has the role of leading us to obey God’s word (Ezekiel 36:26-27)

Once I attain to spiritual maturity, I become able to walk after the Spirit and deny the lusts of the flesh. An indicator of this actually occurring is a joy unspeakable and full of glory attitude. This is accomplished by the Holy Spirit who speaks not of his own, but by making the scripture we read and study to be Jesus speaking to us, Spirit to spirit; who fulfils the promise of the new testament by using scripture to write the Lord's commandments into our hearts and minds; and by using scripture to increase the faith that was authored by Jesus when we were born again.

Once we're born of the Spirit, we become holy with the Lord's own holiness by the Holy Spirit's presence and like Jesus, we can do good works on the sabbath and on every other day of the week, we can worship the Lord in Spirit and in truth on the sabbath and on every other day of the week. By the Spirit's indwelling, a greater than the sabbath is here. Even so, the sabbath will always be on the seventh day of the week and holy unto the Lord; but now, in Christ, every day of the week is also holy unto the Lord.
The Sabbath was never intended to prevent us from doing good, so that again is not a change. In Psalms 119:142, God’s law is truth, so obedience to it is the way worship God in spirit and in truth, we can’t worship in spirit and in truth by rejecting the leading of the Spirit and the truth, and what it says is to keep the 7th day holy and to work the other days. In 1 Peter 1:16, we are told to be holy for God is holy, which is a quote from Leviticus where God was giving instructions for how to do that, we straightforwardly includes keeping God’s Sabbaths holy (Leviticus 19:2-3), and we can’t be holy as God is holy by refusing to follow His instructions for how to do that.

Inadequate definition. Please unpack your answer... using Scripture.

There you go with your commentary again without giving any scripture of your own.
This is the last answer you get from me without you responding with scripture of your own, like my answer or not.
Exodus 20:8-11: “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore, the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.”

Do you have a scripture reference?
Yes, Rightly Divided Scripture References:

In prophecy / covenants / law for the "lost sheep" Of earthly Israel:

Exo_31:13 "Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying,
Verily My sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between Me
and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that
I AM The LORD that doth sanctify you."
Eze_20:12 "Moreover also I gave them My sabbaths, to be a sign
between Me and them, that they might know that I AM The LORD
that sanctify them."
Eze_20:20 "And hallow My sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between
Me and you, that ye may know that I AM The LORD your God."

"Thou camest down also upon mount Sinai, and spakest with them
from heaven, and gavest them right judgments, and true laws, good
statutes and commandments: And madest known unto them Thy holy
sabbath, and commandedst them precepts, statutes, and laws, by the
hand of Moses thy servant" (Neh 9:13-14)
+
"Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples, Saying, The
scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat: All therefore whatsoever
they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their
works: for they say, and do not." (Mat 23:1-3)

Including "the sabbath" [ God's sign ] to them = Israel, under the law of Moses

Rightly Divided (2 Timothy 2:15) From “Things That Differ!” (online):

In The Revelation Of The Mystery, For The [ Heavenly ] Body of Christ = us,
Under Grace!
(Romans through Philemon), Where there are No "sabbath"
Scriptures,
Excepting:

"Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect
of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath: Which are
a shadow of things to come; but The Body Is Of Christ. "
(Colossians 2:16-17 cp Galatians!)
The Body Of Christ, children [ "of the Day" ] Of God, By "Grace Through faith"
really should
stop "living in the shadow [ Darkness ]", but, "live in The Light,"
And, Also stop the condemnation and judging of all the brethren
(Romans 14:4, 10-12 cp 1Co 3:8-15, 4:5; 2Co 5:10), since we all have been:
"delivered from the curse * of the law," and are not "under the law"
But we Are "Under Grace", with the following:

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who
hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places
in Christ...In Whom we have Redemption Through His Blood, the
forgiveness of sins, According To The Riches Of His Grace"
(Ephesians 1:3...7)
Not according to our "keeping a day." Amen?

Paul teaches that the law’s only purpose today is to point out our sin and lead
us to Christ (Rom. 3:19-20; 4:15; 5:20-21; 7:5-6; Gal. 3:19-24; 1 Tim. 1:5-11).

Conclusion: "keeping the law, observing a day," for salvation?

"Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of Grace,
but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on Him
that Justifieth the ungodly, His faith Is Counted For Righteousness."
(Romans 4:4-5)

Cease [ rest from ] all "working" for salvation, and then, for sanctification:

Fulfill All Of His Law, In "One Word: Love thy neighbor as thyself!"
(Galatians 5:14; Romans 13:8-10) ↑ ↑ ↑ ↑ No "keeping a day" ↑ ↑ ↑

Resting in, and worshipping, The LORD Jesus Christ, 24 / 7 / 365 Every day!
God's Grace Word Is Very Clear:

"And if By Grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise
Grace is no more Grace. But if it be of works, then is it
no more Grace: otherwise work is no more work."
Which will you "cancel out"?
Conclusion2:

Mixing Up God's Two Different programs consistently Causes Confusion, of
which:
"God is not the author..." (1Co 14:33)

Thanks for the scriptures. The scriptures you referenced on the Sabbath is about Sabbath-keeping which is on the seventh day Exo 20:10

Nothing about the Sabbath resides in us and that somehow countermands God’s 4th commandment to mean something different than how He wrote or spoke it. . Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy Exo 20:8.
