The pope set the example. He's just being a good Catholic. He likes to make up his own definitions.
Acts 15.
Who presided over the first church council ever? not Peter.
and i present to you further the history of the orthodox church: Christ is the head, and no single man ever had preeminent rulership, but each center was equal.
Peter did not have control. over the disciples. Jesus did.
if anyone can be shown to hold sway over them al outside of Christ, it is Judas, who almost convinced them to rebel against Jesus - see John 12, Mark 14 and Matthew 26. Peter ne er received the sop, Judas did. Judas held the money. Judas had the authority and power, Peter just had a big mouth - which got him in trouble more often than it got his k. praise.
Don't get me wrong - yes Christ greatly honored Peter. but He has honored the weakest vessel as the greatest, and He made it clear in His word that Paul rebruked Peter, not the other way around - not the same make Paul boast, but to make it clear Peter is not above anyone but as Paul, a servant.
RCC Papal succession links back to Peter. The orthodox recognizes the RCC pope, but not as the ultimate authority, just one of several bishiops. Orthodox succession does not link to Peter and does not control anything RCC.the RCC demonstrably recounts a completely imaginary, false history when it tries a to link itself to Peter. likewise the theological argument is completely imaginary and unsupportable, and even if it was supportwd, the implications is that the current head of f the eastern Roman empire controls the church, which is Moscow aka "Magog" not the RCC.
Good point, but it seems like Ignatius is one of the few Catholics if not the only one who held this belief. It was in the person of the whole Church, which he alone represented, that he was privileged to hear, “To you will I give the keys of the kingdom of heaven.” After all, it is not just one man that received these keys, but the Church in its unity.- Augustiner of Hippo, Sermon 295, 1-2, 4, 7-8 (PL 38, 1348-1352)
RCC originated from Papal succession starting from Peter. Council of Nicea was in 325, Rome did not adopt Christianity until 380.it shows Peter did not found nor head the gentile church of Rome
thus undercutting the RCCs fabricated alternative-fact so-called-history.
Rome didn't even show up for the council of Nicea.
None of these are relevant to the discussion at hand and none of these proved your faulty opinions. Also, you are lying again when I already clarified that some people call themselves atheists, but really aren't, so that doesn't even apply.^ Examples of me quoting Scripture... proving you a liar once again.
No, you've addressed some of the verses I provided and I disputed it using biblical proof, you then gave up and stopped replying. Good night.Everything has been disputed. You just don't like what you are hearing. But that won't change. So...grace and peace.
Since you're so fond of fallacies, yours is called "begging the question."If you would have answered in the first place instead of dancing around the question, I wouldn't be asking it again.
That fallacy has nothing to do with asking a question over and over again, you don't even know what you're talking about. It's about making an assumption when asking the question, sort of like a strawman argument.Since you're so fond of fallacies, yours is called "begging the question."
Your big mouth does not prove you have any authority. LOL. Just you spouting your opinions and pretending it is Scripture.he did have a big mouth, but that doesn't mean he didn't have big authority, if anything it only proves he did.
If they are not relevant to the discussion, why do you keep discussing them, which makes them relevant?None of these are relevant to the discussion at hand and none of these proved your faulty opinions. Also, you are lying
again when I already clarified that some people call themselves atheists, but really aren't, so that doesn't even apply.
The funny thing is, he keeps insisting we must submit to the RCC unless or except in cases where they are in opposition to the Word of God, when it is impossible to be an RCC member unless you submit to their heretical dogmas concerning Mary that go directly against what the Bible says and the very words of Jesus Christ. He keeps yammering on about this while being completely ignorant of this fact even though he has been informed of it many times. He must be very fond of and attached to his ignorance. And this is certainly not the place for it.The pope set the example. He's just being a good Catholic.
No, I provided Bible verses for my argument, you didn't. So unless you have something valuable to contribute, please stop spamming my post.Your big mouth does not prove you have any authority. LOL. Just you spouting your opinions and pretending it is Scripture.
I provided DOZENS of Bible verses as proof, while you haven't provided a single one! All you've done is spew a bunch of your opinions, not backed up by anything in the Bible.
You're literally the one who brought this up from page 30If they are not relevant to the discussion, why do you keep discussing them, which makes them relevant?
Oh. I know. It's because you are a liar. Got it. Like you lying about being an atheist.
And lying about atheists believing in God.
Pharisees also made the word of God of no effect, but Jesus still told everyone to obey them (Mathew 23:3)According to the RCC the order of authority is first the clergy, second tradition, and third the Bible. This is straight from my uncle's Catholic Encyclopedia which was written and published by the RCC. According to them, the clergy supersedes the authority of the Bible (which is the word of God).
That verse refers to unbelievers, not disagreements between believers. Everyone claims they are the ones who have the true understanding of the word of God, but most contradict each other, so that's the point of this discussion, to find the truth.Understanding is not for Everyone
Matt 13: 10-11, 13, 23 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. Therefore speak I to them in parables, because they seeing, see not; and hearing, they hear not, neither do they understand. But he that received seed in the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it, who also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundred-fold, some sixty, some thirty.
Matt 7: 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of my Father, who is in heaven.
In order to do the Father's will, you have to know what His will is in your life. That happens when you are filled with His Holy Spirit through which both Father and Son reside, communicates, empowers, and fills with divine love for God first and everyone else as one loves himself. We are obeying His will when all our motivation for every thought and action is this love. We are perfected because we will then be obeying the Spirit of the Law as described by Jesus when asked about the greatest commandment.
Evidently we are to become Roman Catholic, learn church doctrine and ignore it because it is unbiblical. Then when new stuff is made up we are to believe it because God is giving new revelation, except that is against what the Bible teaches so we ignore that. And this is certainly not the place for it.
We very much appreciate what you’re saying regarding God’s Word. We’re not disagreeing that the Word of God is one of our Father’s most beloved and precious gifts to us. We live by these words! …You would not know about the true Jesus or the gospel without His Word.
