Do you believe Israel keeps "all [of God's] decrees and laws" though? Being in the middle east, they have some similar abominable laws that the west has adopted. LGBT and increasing elective abortion rights in 2014 are some of the more recent things that are in contrast to God's law.

I asked God about this a while back because I see the same things you see that they are doing wrong. What I think God focuses more are on the Jews that will become true believers among them. Since we don't know who they are right now, the best we can do is pray for them and stand up for the nation as a whole until they are revealed. That's why I won't go against them. God is protecting His own that are among them.

43 And the Lord gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein.

I understand it literally.
So God's promise to Israel concerning the land was fulfilled then?

That is simplistic.

Yes, God gave them the land, He also gave them a number of laws and warnings and that included being punished if they did not keep those laws. The punishment was laid out in comprehensive detail including being carried away for a time. The punishment is for 70 years. If they still refuse to repent then He multiplies that by 7, so then it is 490 years but God is fair to count the first 70 years as part of that punishment, and yet once again, if they still refuse to repent He multiplies that punishment by 7 again.

Ezekiel describes the punishment of Israel (the northern ten tribes) and Judah (the two tribes of Judah and Benjamin) as being two different periods. When you look at the math there is only one year where both Israel and Judah could possibly experience a Jubilee together, which is what Ezekiel prophesies will happen, and that is 2030.

It's simple to me. God promised. God fulfilled His promise. That's the literal understanding. I realize many people's eschatology is tied to the physical land being restored to the Jewish nation. I don't believe biblically it is necessary personally.

So then you think that Israel returning to the land was not a fulfillment of Ezekiels prophecy concerning the dry bones but is just a coincidence? Israel rebuilding a temple is not literal but these red heifers is just a coincidence?

I don't believe in coincidences.

Sorry, I don't buy it. Israel has given land for peace and they want peace. The Palestinians have refused land 5 times. Israel has never ever intentionally hit civilians, they have never made them the target. You know who has? Hamas! And they make sure civilians will be hit to make Israel look like the bad ones. Israel has never taken babies hostage. They have never raped women then murdered them beside their dead husbands. They have never dragged civilians out of their homes the crack of dawn and butchered them. Never happened! Israel sends down flyers, and today have tech where they can warn people to get out before they hit a building. They are even now warning civilians to leave with is a whole lot more than Israeli civilians got.
It is always best to have a position based on the facts.

I suggest you spend some time learning about Ben Gurion and ethnic cleansing and the atrocities committed.

I gave you a link in the post that you quoted earlier.

Your opinion about Jews being in the land before the Arabs - post #350... you told the person whom you quoted that they were incorrect and that the land belonged to the Jews first. That's only true if you view from OT promises (that had a condition) ... but it's not true from the historical record. The Jews left in and around 70 AD... other peoples inhabited the land which was vacated.

Let's start at the beginning, when God gave the land, more land than the Jews now have, to Abraham. God made an unconditional and everlasting covenant with Abraham. So that land belongs to no one else from a Biblical view. From a historical worldview Israel has a 1000 yr history in the land. Palestinians do not. The Arabs were offered land in 48 and turned it down. They have been offered land four times and turned it down every time. There is no "Palestinian" people. That is a term that was made up for political purposes. Israel sits on 1% in the ME and they STILL are willing to give land for peace and have done so in the past. Yet nothing they offer has been enough. Every time the "Palestinians" have turned it down.

Did You Know? ... the March 31, 1977, Dutch newspaper Trouw, published an interview with the Palestine Liberation Organization executive committee member, Zahir Muhsein. In the interview he said: “The Palestinian people do not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the State of Israel for our Arab unity.
“Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we (suggest) the existence of a distinct ‘Palestinian people’ to oppose Zionism.”

So 0 Japanese civilians were killed in cold blood?
Correct.
Do you believe an atomic bomb is an ideal weapon to discriminately kill an enemy?
That would depend on the circumstances. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were legitimate military targets. The greatness of the bombs were necessary to end the war and save lives on both sides. The fact that the second one had to be used proved this out.

All they did is establish a homeland for the Jews in Palestine after being persecuted in Europe. At that time Palestine was a British Protectorate. However, the Arabs who lived there resented this and also hated Jews. So there were conflicts right from the start.

At the same time later on Israel agreed several times to make a peace deal, and some of those deals came very close to finalization. But the evil Palestinian leaders always turned down every deal because peace was really not on their agenda. They do not care about their own people, and Hamas and Hezbollah have chosen to be terrorist organization with help from Iran. Lets not forget that Muslim terrorism became a worldwide phenomenon and 9/11 was a direct result of that. And today American idiots are cheering on these Hamas terrorists.

The open border in the south is bringing in millions of illegals, and many of them may be infiltrating America to do exactly what they did in Israel. Right now Hamas is calling for the extermination of both Jews and Christians.
The ideas in your first paragraph is already reductive so I have no reply.

1) All promises have been fulfilled in Christ.

2) The inhabitants of the land were driven out, some of whom were Christians with no warning, many were slaughtered in the process.

Prior to the British making mess of the situation Muslims, Jews and Christians lived in relative peace aside from a skirmish in 1920's.

Britain made false promises to the Arabs when the Ottoman Empire was divided up.

Also one could make a case that the Ashkenazic Jews are not a lineage from ancient Israelite but European converts to the faith.

Then God was lying to Abraham when He made the land promise. If He will lie about one thing then we can't trust Him when He said we are grafted in.

The Ottoman empire lost the war, they lost the land, which they had taken in the first place. The Brits divided the land and gave Israel a sliver of land and Arabs the biggest piece, and they refused it! And they have continued to refuse land for peace.

The last comment has been debunked yet every few decades it comes back around again. It's simply false.

Or is it because you have no reply? Regardless of everything else, there is no question that the Muslim world decided to eliminate Israel and exterminate all the Jews. And that is the root cause of this conflict. The Koran says that Christians and Jews are bound for Hell. Then the Islamists have come along and declared that they will establish a Muslim Caliphate worldwide and forcibly convert others yo Islam or else. But what we see of the Islamists is that they are the ones bound for Hell.

Getting back to the horrific attack by Hamas a few days ago, the Israeli Defense Forces have admitted that they failed to do their job. Indeed the government of Israel failed to do its job. So now they are trying to rectify their own negligence.
